I believe the official thermometer at the airport is housed near the doppler which is quite aways away from the concrete jungle, the airport is also a little higher in elevation so it's never the true temp of say downtown in the asphalt, my car read 40.5 today on Memorial Dr.

Is it there or at the weather shack just off of Barlow east of 17L/35R? Either way it is not sitting in the middle of smoking hot tarmac at the terminal.

They still claim the all time high temp in Calgary is 36.5 but I'll bet that's been broken a couple times in the last few years around the city.

What a scorcher of an evening yesterday. Thank god I have one of those portable AC units in my bedroom. Even with that on it was a hot night. Feel bad for my roommates. Gave them an extra fan I have, but must have been a rough one.

Yeah, brutal night. I had my portable A/C unit cranked and I still ended up kicking the sheet off my bed in my sleep and woke up almost hourly because I was too hot.

After suffering through that nasty heat dome week in 2021 and having the entire family sleep in the master bedroom because we only had one portable AC unit (I was relegated to the floor), I'm so glad we pulled the trigger on central AC this year. It's a pretty nice feeling to be shocked by how hot it is when you go outside for the first time after working at home in a 23 degree house all day

Yeah that's awesome. I just got back to Calgary yesterday after being in Deadmonton since last Thursday, I missed the entire heatwave. I'm pretty chapped about it...

Celebrated Square Root Day

What a perfect day today. 21 and sunny, and for once a totally clear city. Looks and feels beautiful for a change.
Perfect day for outdoor sports!

There is something very disconcerting about having to kick the furnace back on only a few days after a 32 degree day
