In Edmonton this weekend, Weather Network has had the smoke index at 7+ since yesterday, and its mostly blue skies. Feels like it should be 2/10. I swear it's been way off all month, better just to trust your eyes/nose at this point.

That's what I've been doing all summer, haha. Walk outside, take a whif, know what you're dealing with.

Sadly I lived here for 8 years before coming back to Calgary, it's too late for me.
But it was St. Albert, they probably get the air shipped in from the Swiss Alps. Or maybe Druidia.

What an exceptional day!
Spent it floating on the lake drinking beer!

Halifax residents spent the day floating in the streets without beer.
Four people washed away including two 6 year old's.

Come on, don’t be soft. We barely broke the top 10 for hottest days in the city’s history.

Interesting top 10 above. Just thinking out loud, but would it make a difference that modern data is from airport and old is from Fort Calgary? Like dirt and trees in old Calgary compared to miles of concrete and asphalt at the airport. Also, would modern thermometers and the like be much more accurate than what they used back then?

That week in 2021 was absolutely unbearable.

Ah yes, the good ol’ heat dome of 2021. Was a good week of sleeping in my basement.
Actually, looking at the current temp of 26 degrees, I just might do that again tonight…

I remember getting in trouble for not having my camera on for meetings during the heat dome.
I was in my underwear. I would have gotten in trouble for having my camera on.

was at work most of the day, but leaving around 730pm I don't really remember such a warm (?hot?) evening wind in Calgary, that felt particularly jarring
