In most offseason/October predictions they were either the most picked or in the top two to be cup winners. Oddsmakers had Edmonton as one of the safest bets for winning the cup. Sportsnet can't cover anything without talking about how incredible the oilers and Mcdavid are.

Yet everywhere I go if there is an oilers fan its them talking about how everything and everyone has worked against them all year but they have had to climb out of the pile like a scrappy underdog. They demand we all cheer for deadmonton because the are "Canada's Team", yet they proudly state how they would never cheer for Calgary if the positions were reversed. Insecure and sad that the rest of Canada is exhausted of the non-stop conspiracy accusations everything in the oilers orbit are constantly making.

I don't like watching those losers get success, but knowing that they will be so high on the smell of their own farts that they will spectacularly fail at managing the modest increase they have for the cap this year. A first round loss is a sign that things aren't all there, but a cup final loss will convince them the dynasty has arrived and they just need a few more bad contracts to push them over the edge.

I've noticed this too, a big push from Oiler fans to guilt people into cheering for them, call themselves Canada's team, etc. I was 13 when the Flames made their run but at no point during did I remotely give one single #### if people in Vancouver or Edmonton or really anywhere else were cheering for the Flames or not. Why would you care lol, Calgary wanted the Flames to win and so did I.

Just got to Edmonton (sadly family matters forced me to come this weekend). Have only seen a couple car flags. Then I passed a truck on Gateway Boulevard with New Brunswick plates, with a Florida Panthers car flag and Panthers decal on his back window. Just beautiful...I gave him a hearty thumbs up.
