I don't know how smokeytuna got so lost. Nowhere in this site does it say Torontopuck or Leafspuck.
What's with the incessant need for leaf fans to steer every discussion to their crummy team? There's enough of that already, I just need to turn on sportsnet at any hour of the day and wait about 30 seconds.

Toronto Sports Network is guaranteed to deliver the goods any time you need it. The Austin Matthews and John Tavares stroking is 24/7.

Shane Wright might be the next player to apply for exceptional status in the OHL
Hurricanes really like McElhinney. They might have even put a claim in on him even if Darling wasn't injured.
They could carry 3 goalies and take their time before making a decision.
Pens will not look externally for goalie help with Murray out.
Laine camp believes there is no hurry to sign an extension.
Tom Wilson's appeal hearing with Bettman is expected to be next week.
Arbitrator expected to make Austin Watson's appeal decision next week.

Thought for sure he’d catch on somewhere in the NHL.

Yes, last season, even Flames management was talking about the untapped offensive potential of Nick Shore.

Laine will definitely get $12M+; you get a premium for living that far north.
I don't think you get the same premium in Toronto.

I'd be shocked if Laine gets $10 to be honest. Doesn't have the same dynamic game as Eichel or Matthews, and plays the wing.

Where are the Jets getting the cap space? Myers is a UFA I'm assuming they are resigning him, Trouba RFA are they keeping him?
They have 6.8M in cap space left, if the cap goes up few million lets say 9M. They are most likely losing a defensemen

Kyle Connor is a RFA after this year too...they have their work cut out for themselves.

Oh yeah for sure. Trouba is gone.
I’m not saying they have the space, just that is what he will demand. Especially if he puts up another ~45goal season.

When you are if not the best then amongst the best drafting teams in the NHL it does make for very difficult decisions down the line when all your good young players want to get paid. It's a good problem but it's also a difficult balancing act as you can't really afford to pay market value for everyone and remain under the cap.

trade them for futures, draft another 30 goal scorer in the mid first round, profit.

Laine's output is being capped by minutes on the third line this season. Chevy making the smart moves.
