Yes I did renew our tickets in Section 214. I was seriously considering dropping them until the 3 bench coaches were let go. I still very much like this team and have more optimism with new coaches and the expiring contracts of Stajan and a couple of others.

You’re going to love the expiring contract group two years from now.

Simple question: Season ticket holders... To renew or not to renew
I took some time to think this one through, and ultimately it came down to trust in Tree. I think the team is still very close to turning that corner, so ultimately I renewed and just clicked "Yes" on this poll.
I'm hoping for more luck in the seat relocation process this summer.

I am still on the fence. Part of me would rather spend $6000 on a family vacation at a hot destination and the other part would be kicking myself in the ass if flames go on a huge playoff run and I don't have tickets.
I got in after the 2004 playoff run because I had to buy scalpers and it drove me crazy to do that. Since then I have dumped way to much money for #### year after year.
Maybe I dump them this tear and will be the reasons Flames go all the way.

Raise in cost is slap in the face. The whole
Flames game experience is awful value for dollar. Couple that with the death of the resale market and corresponding below face tickets to any game I want to go to, and why would I shell out that kind of coin to watch this team play live all the time?

Clearly you wouldn’t and shouldn’t if you feel that way about the experience. Doesn’t seem like a good fit for you, spend your money on something you’ll enjoy more!

In response to an email from my account rep asking if I was going to renew this year, I wrote back a pretty scathing response and specifically mentioned that Ken King and the arena situation was the primary reason for my not renewing.
Well, today I received a phone call from Ken King himself and I have to say I'm really taken aback. Out of respect, I'm going to omit all details other than to say that fact that he would take over 20 minutes of his day to talk to a PL season ticket holder really speaks volumes about the man, and I have gained a new level of respect.
It hasn't impacted my decision, but having a candid conversation with him has completely changed my opinion on many things. I still dont think they should get any money for their private business, but I see things from their perspective and don't harbor any ill will towards them anymore
Ken King, you got a new fan today. It's hard to overstate how much things like this mean to the little guy

Some thoughts on this:
1. I think not renewing based on Ken King and the arena situation is a bad choice. My opinion, no judgement, I just don't think it's a good reason.
2. I have a lot of respect for you having that opinion, not bad mouthing only on a forum, but actually relaying your feelings to the Flames so they know why.
3. I now have mad respect for King and the Flames in general for taking your concerns seriously and taking step to retain a customer by giving credence to your concerns.
Thank you for this! I double checked mine, and they had shorted me by ~$300!
I contacted my ticket rep, who is only so-so about getting back to me, so we'll see what they say. I think at this point given their lack of competent accounting I'd like a check for the difference sent to me vs leaving it on account for next year...

A few details would be nice.

Anyone else have discrepancies when it comes to the credit on their account selling tickets on the NHL Ticket Exchange? Every year I seem to have a small one, but this year it is very significant. $692.08 to be exact, which may be only one game for some people, but for row one in the PL it works out to almost the cost of two tickets for 14 games.
I keep every email when I sell a game on the Exchange and keep a spreadsheet to track which games are sold and which games I attended or traded. Really wish the Flames would keep this info current on your account for you to view at anytime. The fact that they don't give you access makes me really suspicious.
Did you (or anyone) ever hear back from your rep about this? I'm pretty annoyed, as I've been trusting them in the past. Next year I'll go to Ken's method, which is way less convenient.
I hate not being able to trust people. This isn't a very complicated thing to keep track of, imo, no excuse not to get it right. Maybe there really is a front office management problem with the Flames.

She contacted me and apparently they started applying my credit to my payments from this past season (I pay quarterly); she also sent me a copy of my account statement showing the credits being applied.
P.S. I still need to double-check that my credit card was not actually billed for my last quarterly payment (plus a portion of my second last payment), but I'm assuming that's the case.
EDIT: Based on my account statement, the difference between the total credit and what the Flames processed was only off by a penny. Not bad.
I just renewed. I contacted my rep about doing only a half season, which apparently is an option. There is no guarantee that you'd be able to keep your current seats (but would stay in the same price point), and of course the Flames choose which games you get. Too many conditions for my liking.

I renewed. I like the social aspects of going to the games. Drinking beer, night out from family, regular people I see between intermissions etc. Winning is a big bonus but one variable of many though a very important one.
The increase is ok with me but I think is ballsy from ownership to a lot of fans considering how this season ended. Playoff run or bust going into the season and ended something like 11 points out. Coach gone and people are renewing in hopes that Treliving can fix secondary scoring. He has a lot of work cut out for him and will be tough to fix this season. We're a lot farther from a playoff run then hoped and not an easy fix.

I understand where you are coming from on this. We approached the Flames on just doing half a season and their terms were really a joke. You cant try it for a year. We would give up the rights. Flames would now own them and they give the other half to what they said is likely a new STH and the Flames have 100% control of what games they issue to you.
I asked them so is it fair like alternating games so it is random. They said no they choose.
What a scam, not to mention they show no loyalty after investing in STH since 2002.
It's a total family decision we have been on the fence past two seasons just because life changes how many games we can attend now. It was half the games last year. Selling about 1/4 and the other 1/4 you end up giving away. Sometimes you cant even do that lol. RIght now we are in a 60/40 split in favor of not continuing with them.
Then there is the Flames increasing the price another $500 after a sh## season like we they just had, pure arrogance.

Sounds like you guys should get together and split a set to me. Then you can have a draft to keep the distribution fair.
That seems like the part of it that is a terrible deal to me. No way I would trust the Flames to not keep TOR/MTL/PIT/VAN/EDM, while giving up Arizona and Columbus on Tuesdays.

This is the kind of thing King was famous for after Bremner, and was garnering him some mad love. Nice to hear he's still at it.
