I can't remember when I watched a great matinee game featuring the Flames. I always write these games off and if they win just welcome a nice little surprise.

Perhaps you have a communication problem since at least three posters got the same message from your post. And "most teams" would pull Smith in his first game back after even the third goal. The game would be 4-1 if that had happened.

The team had Smith steal a few early on, then as of late they outscored their issues, but when it all balances out in the end, this club is below average in almost every area that matters right now. That's just an ugly truth.

Its great that wins and points are the ultimate metric and they have been OK thus far at them, but they cannot sustain a PO spot with their overall game where it is. Not a chance.

This moving part way up the ice only to give the puck to a Flyer player with a nothing/no one pass has got to stop asap.

Always keep possession as long as possible. Why just throw it away. Hopefully just morning game brain farts.
