It was one game, and I disagree that they made it "look easy," or that the Flames "struggled mightily." The Oilers won on a fluke deflection off of a Ducks player.
The facts are these: every team plays well against certain teams and poorly against others—the Flames play very well against the Blackhawks and Penguins, and cannot seem to win games against the Ducks; much like the Oilers have historically struggled against Minnesota, or before this season the Arizona Coyotes.

Fixed. "The streak" is not a real thing in that the Flames will get over it. They looked poised to do so this season—I am betting it happens next year.

God I hope I'm alive to see it. I just want to see one more cup for Calgary before I die. I'm not greedy!

There are some who weren't alive for the first one. What I would give to see a cup win. Makes 2004 sting all the more.

Thanks for making me look like an idiot Gibson. Why can't you sieve out in the third period against us when the game is on the line?

So again, I'm not saying they didn't deserve to win, it's not as though the Ducks got completely robbed of a deserved victory, but the way I saw it everything kind of aligned for the Oilers to score last night and they had good fortune on their side. It happens.

Maybe I chose the wrong words with "get the job done" but the crux of my statement was that its frustrating to see the Oilers win there regardless of how it happened.

I watched about 20 minutes of the game. In between the loving gazes of Conner sitting on the bench, Conner skating onto the ice, Conner taking a faceoff, and then in between periods, wall to wall coverage of - you guessed it - Conner - I ran out of the house screaming. I know he is talented, but until they start spending more than cursory mentions of his contributing teammates, I choose to believe they are only playing three sets of round games.

Connor
The media is what ruins certain players for me too. It's sad.

Ducks better bring their A game tonight. No more fartin' around. For the love of all things good and pure, just give us something to smile about in this miserable season. That's all I ask.

I wonder if this is what depression is like - dark cloud lingering over the playoffs, thoughts of Oilers sucess weighing on my mind and preventing me from fullying enjoying the playoffs.

Really this season was miserable? What part of the 10 game win streak had you the lowest?

oilers got their split, ducks shook the rust off and need the win.
I am therefore predicting a comfortable Ducks win tonight.

Perhaps I should have clarified. What I meant was that Edmonton's ridiculous success this year and in the playoffs has thrown a dark, depressing cloud over this season, despite a pretty decent year overall by the Flames. I won't be happy until the Oilers are knocked out.

Hope I see highlights of Kessler and Perry taking turns giving 'Connor' wedgies tonight.
Ducks just have to go full Ducks and they can prevail. Be that team we know and hate. Straddle the line between legal and dirty, lots of antics, and timely goals.

I didn't really think the Ducks played like the Ducks. They were soft and didn't really stir up any crap. I expect to see a lot more of that tonight.
Bieksa is out tonight. That might actually be a good thing for the Ducks.
