IF the investigation drags on and no charges are laid by camp, it'll be interesting what the Hawks do. Suspending a guy without even being charged feels kinda wrong.
If he is charged, it's a no brainer to suspend him with pay until convicted. If convicted, suspension without pay, or worse.
It would be shame as a fan of hockey to see one of the best talents in the league essentially be expelled from the league.

I agree.
Absolute certainty there will be charges, assuming she is credible and evidence is consistent with her complaint.

You were bang on until the end.
If convicted, you rip up his contract (I have no knowledge on if this is legal).

Even if he is 100% guilty, I would be shocked if he was convicted. Just doesn't seem to be the way it works.
Like police abuse, not going to get a conviction but you should get a nice payday.

Well Kane going to jail won't really help the victim out.
But a several million dollar settlement might help her seek therapy and other such help.

You're right. People only rape for power. Sex has absolutely nothing at all to do with. Just power. Sex just happens to be the vehicle for their psychosis, but thats all it is.
All I said in my post was that at this point the only fact of the matter is that we have no idea what the facts of the matter are.
It is not impossible that Kane raped her.
It is not impossible that she is going for a payday.
It is not impossible that the truth is somewhere in the middle.
It is not impossible that neither of them are out-of-work actors from Guildford as may have been claimed and are in fact field researchers for a wholly remarkable book.

Considering Kane's history, I have no doubt in my mind that there is some kind of stipulation in his contract, that would void said contract if Kane were to engage in conduct that go against the principles of the Blackhawks organization.

I think if he raped someone, he should go to jail and I think he will if convicted. But if Kane dangles a few million to the girl's family to settle out of court, it will get settled before a conviction.

I don't think that you understand the differences between how the criminal and civil justice systems operate.

I'm afraid you might be mistaken on how the American system works. The formula is essentially this: flood the system with money, criminal charges disappear, pay out a settlement.

There is no American system; it varies wildly state to state due to the autonomy they are afforded.
