It's almost as if someone was cc'd on an e-mail from 3M with some drafts showing their paint capability, then wanted to impress the boss by saying hey... these are awesome even though I'm a lawyer and don't know anything, let's proceed.
Anybody know where the plate designs are from the first vote?

I seem to recall that it was just a poll that gave descriptions (ie. Would you like to have a Wild Rose or Mountains on the license plate?) instead of images.

Not really true at all. If the voting is being rigged one way, what makes you think it's not being rigged the other way. Plus I have only seen a couple people here say that they prefer the 2nd one. How about a poll on this thread for interests sake?

If NWT can have a bear, why can't we have a cow or horsey plate?

Because not everyone in Alberta is a redneck and drives an F150.

I like this one, but both of those are kind of abstract, closer to the 1st one than the 2nd one in the vote list.. I meant the ones that are more photorealistic like the 2nd one, basically a photo put onto the plate.

I'll have to get back at you when I'm not at work for that, photon.
the George Washington above might be my favourite plate in my collection.

Looks like "The Valley of the Ten Peaks" in Alberta.

I am not picking from the 3M crud....
Here is a simple MSPaint I came up with.
The "Alberta" logo represents mountains, and if you want to go the NWT route, you could shape the license plate around it for added effect.
Slogans at the bottom (if you even want any) could be something like "Infinite Horizons" or "Rising Above".
I don't understand the dual year stickers. Have a month on the bottom left and a year on the bottom right.
And yes, I took plate #2 as my baseline for this. I still think your jihad is stupid as you are picking from three VERY poor choices.

The right side sticker location is for things like Taxi/Farm Vehicle/Special Licensed Vehicles, I believe. They would need to change how the stickers work to remove one of the spots, which wouldn't be difficult. BC already has month-year on the stickers anyway.

You could also have certain plates for certain things. For example years ago in Manitoba if the letters started with "F" it was a farm vehicle, and "T" for a truck.

When I was at the park and ride this morning I was looking at the plates and a good 75% had License plate frames on the vehicle so you can't even read the bottom of the frame where the slogan is. Such a waste of time.

Doesn't Alberta already do this somewhat? Taxis, rentals, and farm plates already have a X-XXXXX format.
