Drouin can skate, he's shifty, and I feel like he might fit in with the structure.

Sutter would hate him.
Drouin has compete issues. He has all the talent in the world but takes too many shifts off. I don't see the fit at all.

With Monahan on the books the Flames probably have around $2,700,000 in cap space.
If they are trying to land another big fish someone is leaving. It would be a shame if we lost a good young defensman rather than Monahan. I have a feeling Lucic is staying.
Having your 4th line center and LW making almost $11.5 million is not optimal.

If the Flames need to clear cap, Lucic to Anaheim just makes too much sense to not happen. The Ducks are well under the floor right now and need to add cap hit. Since his bonus has been paid, he'll only cost $1 million in real money ($900,000 after escrow) if the Ducks owners want to save cash. He'd likely be open to moving to Southern California.

I think this discussion has happened with Lucic already and he is taking a little of the summer to see if he wants that or simply retire. He was just at Disneyland

There's some unprovoked quote from Stastny a few months back where he's praising Sutter and saying the Flames play the right way and that he wishes the Jets played like them. Seems like he would be favorable to coming here based on that.

Drouin from the Habs, no, but I think the perfect fit on our top line now (and people will hate this) is Josh Anderson.

We do need a top-line winger to play with Lindholm and Huberdeau; this is a given. Toffoli is not a top-line forward anymore. Some posters were suggesting Marner but that's not even a pipe dream. However; Toronto is cap-strapped and they do need to move something of substance to get some breathing room. Nylander is the answer. They have always treated him as a bit of a nuisance/second priority player and he probably feels it. If Treliving can work his magic and do a trade including a few cap-friendly assets like a top forward prospect+Valimaki+Florida's 1st + a 2nd maybe? That would give us an excellent top line and would give Toronto an optically good return to show for the trade. Come on, Tre, put on your wizard hat, fire the cauldron and cast your spells.

Time for a Battle of AB trade? Pool Party Puljujarvi for Valimaki?
(wishful thinking I know)

I don't follow the team all that closely.
Its Monny's contract currently considered an anchor? Or would it have value in a trade?

Stastny also 17th in NHL in faceoffs at >56%.
Also from Quebec City (of course via Peter)

Thought I heard Lucic either offseasons, or still owns a home in LA.

Flames should extend Weegar before Kylington's arb hearing. Then figure out what to do with the rest of the D. Is the team willing to pay Kylington over $4M for bottom-pair minutes, do they move him, or do they shop someone else like Hanifin?

With cap being King these days, an absolute anchor.
Now, if he proves himself healthy and productive again, that would change.
It was rumoured that teams even wanted a first to take on JVR, who's actually still productive of sorts.

Can’t see Kylington getting anything higher than 3 million honestly.
I think he falls right into the 2.5-3 mark for two years.

Yeah, I've heard the same, but I didn't want to presume if that was still the case. He tweeted that his family was in Disneyland last week, but that doesn't necessarily mean they live there in the offseason.
If he does have a place down there, it makes it more likely that he'd accept a trade.

In a few interviews Looch has mentioned he has a home in LA for the offseason.
