As mentioned with the world economy in the shape it's in right now it's probably not getting cheaper.

Yes, but "enhanced/upgraded" versions of certain Switch 1 games will cost $10-$20 assuming you already own it on Switch (physically or digitally)

Seems like a smoother way for them to do these from their point of view? Less downtime for their site, still getting their orders in, etc.

Looks like all Gamestop allocations in Calgary are done.

Yeah it doesn't make sense that other companies don't do it this way.

Sign up, do a draw, and you save all the hassle of your site crashing and all that fun.

Especially with these companies all having memberships / site logins. You can prioritize customers who have made a purchase with you before and that helps limit bots and scalpers too.

Probably good to have preorders locked in with the increases in prices for gaming hardware that happening now. Consoles used to go down in prices but now we are seeing 10-15% increases at the end of life cycle instead. With Xbox jacking stuff up, kinda expect the rest will do the same on hardware and games.

Wouldn't be surprised if Switch prices go up after the initial release and before the holidays.

We were in SF staying nearby and every time we walked by there was a huge line, and that was with the advance ticket system they put in place for the first few days after opening.
