Chinook Hobby apparently closed, and I am both shocked and wholly unsurprised. It was such a unique and fun store, but I swear it was half-boarded up a decade ago.
There's a tattoo parlour on 17th Ave. and about 15 St. S.W. that houses some nerd's buy/sell collection. Heroes & Dragons or something? He's got funny hours, but might be interested.

You're mental. She was awesome. Granted I have a strange loathing and disdain for the Crusher character, but quite like Gates McFadden the actress.

I'm mental??
Pulaski was probably the most universally disliked TNG character. She was awful.
Nobody would have been upset if the Airlock inexplicably opened while she was doing inventory.

They all sucked in their first season. If they had kept her I think her relationship with Data over time would of been a wealth of story.

Technically not her first season though.
I'm surprised by your opinion though because the actress very clearly didnt want to be there.

I think Diana Mulduar did when she took the job. I think the rest of the cast resented her and she realized that it wasn't the place for her. It's the same story as Jeri Ryan coming in to Voyager at the expense of a cast mate. In the 80s the public was told McFadden had quit over story lines. But now it's known she was fired and the cast would have known that. It also explains why Stewart was so adamant she come back in season 3.
That being said, Pulaski was a #### character. If I wanted Bones, by the time she appeared I had three seasons of ToS, two seasons of animated and four movies. I didn't need a poor, unlikable facsimile to keep me sated. Bones and Spock's relationship was unique and combative but I would never describe it as overtly disrespectful. I think everyone has a close friendship like that one in their life. Pulaski was just a see you next tuesday to Data and just unbelievably disrespectful.

I think you're right that the rest of the cast resented her, but I vaguely recall reading that after taking the role she realized that she really, really didnt want to do it.
The cast didnt like her, the audience didnt like her and she didnt like her character/want to be there anymore.
It was just bad all around.
And....this is just my own opinion, but I think the 'Pulaski Experiment' is something that kicked the writers in the ass to start really writing more seriously for the female roles.
Troi takes on a bigger role, Yar is gone Crosby made her mistake, the Doctor gets some dedicated episodes when she comes back...it got better.
Aside from copulating with the supernatural. That was a mistake.

Well Season 7 was mostly terrible anyway. The de-evolving episode? The train episode? Terrible.

I've always attributed things getting better to coming out of the writers strike. They got an influx of new writers and ideas. But also it lined up perfectly with two major changes behind the scenes. Rodenberry had taken a big step back in his day to day contributions and they were finally out of ####ty scripts written for ToS or "The Next Phase" they could turn into TNG scripts.

You mean that time he had to go to Rehab for Cocaine and Alcohol?
Gene was a great 'idea man' but not so good in other arenas.
"Yeah Gene...everyone tends to get along in paradise when they're drunk and stoned..."

Sorry, I was responding to how terrible the Crusher ghost sex episode was.
But yes, Pulaski was terrible.

I worry about you. Seriously they finally set up Picard and Crusher - only to drop the ball in the last scene.
Bomeward, the worst use of the Prime Directive.
Masks - really?
Genesis - why is Barclay a spider?
Other than Lower DEcks and All Good Things, the season was an uneven mess. Dark Page was the best Lwaxana episode, but it's not like the competition there is fierce.

Masks was amazing. Brent Spiner puts on a straight up acting clinic.
Homeward is trash though.

That was rough. I think that had to be green-lit when the studio executives were on holidays or something?
"Uhh...sure...Ghost Sex. Why not?"
I'm surprised McFadden said 'Yes' to that.

Oh and don't forget the one where someone killed someone else in the plasma room or whatever and his psyche imprinted there so that Troi could see into the past. Riveting stuff.

I always find it strange when people dont see the correlation between Roddenberry going to Rehab and...TNG: Season 3.
The second he was removed from the process...the show got good.

Gene should be lauded for creating Star Trek in the first place - but it couldn't progress until he was gone, unfortunately. There would have been no DS9 if he was still around.
