Someone get that man a chair. He just stands there all day waiting for a call from the Captain. I wonder if he stands there if they are just at warp for weeks on end. Also, the transporter room is redundant. They have site-to-site transport ability.

Its like...looking back on O'Brien in TNG...what a waste! He is an Engineer that could give Geordi a run for his money based on his ability to keep DS9 running and they had him tucked away in a transporter room! Doing nothing!
Starfleet's best!!
Madness! Who is in charge of evaluating talent??

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
The Following User Says Thank You to Locke For This Useful Post:
Although O'Brien is often posted to a transporter room, it's heavily implied that it's only one of many duties he has. He was at the helm in "Encounter at Farpoint", he appeared in main engineering many times, he was the one who monitored Data's condition when they had Data hooked up to Locutus in "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II"...
Little bit of trivia I didn't know until recently: do you know who played in the first "poker game" on TNG?
I think of the season 3-7 adult main cast (minus Picard, of course) as being the ones who played, but the first game they had in an episode was in season 2's "Measure of a Man", and the players were Data, Riker, LaForge, Pulaski and O'Brien.
There is also a store here in Edmonton that I sold some of my figures too that were still carded. Calgary probably has something like that. Is Chinook Hobby still around?

O'Brien should have beamed Pulaski into space. I dont think I could spend and evening playing Poker with her without poisoning her drink.
Star Trek has had some bad characters...but she's up there.
