Defensive plays never get the accolades of offensive plays.

He's been improving his defensive game. Take the win.
What's wrong with taking the win while pointing out that the most important player in a team's lineup was a ghost?
Don't have to be so binary.

Try reading again, this time with a little more attention. The Flames have two lines that are, on any given night, their top line. Posters have noted this all year. Or are you saying that Tkachuk isn’t a top line player?

Old guys gotta old guy I guess.....

Back in my day we hacked limbs off and fought our reflections in the glass to prove we wanted ice time.

Dude had 2 points, a couple of very impressive hits and made some very impressive 1 on 1 puck battles. He wasn't invisible. Hes just not scoring on command. He's adjusting his game . That's a win.

You really can't be serious about this.

We’ll take it. Win was absolutely vital. Team had another bad start, but Markstrom was dialed in, group made great adjustments after the 1st. Backlund with a helluva game.

But Flames can’t be complacent, the Oilers didn’t get a lot of big saves and played pretty atrocious defense. The Jets are coming up again and they’ll have Dubois this time. Team could easily be back to under .500 in no time.

I am very happy for the win but I am honestly at a loss to what our d zone coverage 5 v 5 is supposed to be. Also shedding a tear for Gio so far, yeah a couple nice passes but not the same player in the d zone at the moment.

Last comment on Monahan’s ice time = it was was obvious Ward was matching Backlund against McDavid, and if not him, then Lindholm. So naturally Backlund (and Mangiapane) and Lindholm (and Dube) will be on the ice more because McDavid played literally half the game.

No ####, if I wanted to bicker about a bunch of inconsequential crap, have my words twisted and then used against me or be reminded of how wrong I am all the time I’d go talk to my wife.

Backs controlled the puck great tonight. He went deep in his zone to get control and skate it out and he played smart with it in the offensive zone. Used Lucic really well and Mangiapane was very good too - they just played so good as a unit.
