The guy played 15 minutes. Why?
Whyndoes a team plays their top line C so little in a tight game? I know the answer. You will search for an excuse.
|
The answer is that the Flames have two top lines that play about equally. You didn’t know that?
ETA: Plus penalties had a fair bit to do with it.

Well said.
I have a lot of respect and admiration for Cassie Campbell-Pascal.
I just can't listen to her. She has a habit of just thinking out loud rather than articulating her thoughts and just trails off sometimes. It's not enjoyable to listen too

Is it really that impressive to win a scoring race when you play way more than anyone else in the league?

14:56 ice time in a close game versus the biggest rival.
Check Dube and Mangi, youngsters trying to make a mark.
Why? Explain please.

|
We need the wins and he needs to increase his value. Flames had lots of opportunities to play him on the top line over the years and chose not to, so it is what it is.
Playoff Sam also had opportunities, but didn't bring it during the season, it is just too bad we had to wait until now for a coach that knows how to push the right buttons!!

LOL. Two top lines? Are you high? This team barely tracks above the Sens. This win is nice, but get real.

Gotta give Lucic credit too if I didn't yet. That was his best game of the year, even ignoring the goal

Monahan doesn't have points .. her him!!
Defensive plays never get the accolades of offensive plays.
He's been improving his defensive game. Take the win.

I actually think she is really well served doing intermission analysis, it allows her time to...uh...analyze... and use her very real and very valid expertise to draw conclusions.
As a colour commentator I find Cassie will pick a narrative early and use that as the hinge upon which she tells the story, it may veer as the game goes on but is fairly fixed which leaves a lot to be desired and feels forced.

It's nice to finally have a game in which the Flames scored more than 4 goals.
Within the division, the team is probably known for its defense. But still, goals are fun.

You mean new linemates need some time to develop some chemistry? You don't say...
Gosh, the pretzels some will twist themselves into to bash a player every chance they get...
Give the guy an honest chance on that line... if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out, not the end of the world. But the potential benefit could be substantial here if things do work out...

What I mean is, let people post what they want to post.
It isn’t stopping you or I from being happy. Well, not me anyways.
In fact, I am capable of ####ting on the colour commentary, cheering the flames, discussing Sam’s future, making fun of the Oilers and talking about Ward’s coaching all at the same time.
It’s like that sad fellow a few pages back who for about the 3rd time was whining about people being mean to Cassie because it wounded him or whatever. Jesus, talk about rattled. The only thing more lame than letting PBP ruin your night (it didn’t for me, the idea is laughable) is letting some random posts about the PBP ruin your night.
It’s the same with Bennett or Ward. PGT posts are not a limited resource. In fact the same posters can cover several topics. Don’t let one discussion give you tunnel vision and obsess over it.
I’ve made maybe 20 (?) Sam Bennett posts in 5 years and people have repeatedly quoted me asking me why I’m obsessed with him. I’m sorry, who’s the stalker again?

That's a good point, she's not bad on the panel.
Hrudey as well. He's average at doing colour but his great chemistry with Ball makes it much more enjoyable to listen too than it would be with someone else. Where he shines is the studio.
