It's worth noting too that, in your hypothetical situation, the female student whose feelings you're defending is at no risk of being disqualified from the teem purely on the basis of her sexual identity. Inclusion of the transgendered female is only intended to level that playing field (as much as possible anyway). After that, it is entirely possible that the transgendered female will also be cut from the volleyball team because there are faster/stronger/taller players.

There may be cases of boys who didn't make the boys team trying out for the girls team. Even if they don't identify as transgendered they would be able to make the case that they let a transgendered boy on the team who is the same size or bigger than he is so why can't he join the girls team? When I was in high school I saw this happen for field hockey as it was only the girls allowed but some boys wanted to be on the team too. The boys were allowed after complaining but had to wear the skirts. They destroyed everyone else as their teams were full of girls.

There is an easy way to sort this out. Make all high school athletics co-ed and have divisions. You would have to mandate a minimum number of females like in mixed slo pitch for each division but you could have the tier 1 team and a tier 2 team.

Changed your post to highlight the important failing in your example.

This situation occurs all the time in both male and female sports on every single level. It is not unique to transgender inclusion. Your argument is against the inclusion of anyone with a genetic advantage. In addition, the "genetic advantage" of a transgender female is not automatic or guaranteed.

P.S. should another thread be created? This has moved pretty far away from the point of the thread and into transgendered sports participation.

No there won't. If there is a girls and boys team no boy will play on the girls team if he was cut from the boys team by pretending to self identify as a girl.

And no you wouldn't be able to make the arguement as the teams are clearly defined by the gender you self identify with. Sports are not being made coed.
