I don't buy for a second that EDM is intentionally tanking. They want to win, but have made poor draft picks, and are simply no good.

The fun part is that the Oilers aren't even starting over. All MacTavish accomplished was to open a hole where a 20-25 goal guy used to sit and he has nothing in the pipeline to replace him. We'll see if the whole "find a top six winger on the free agent market" thing works better than the "find a top six centre" goal did last year.

I don't agree, that's only speculation. Perron was a marketable asset that brought a reasonable return.
It is now up to management to draft & develop those returns properly.
Not that I have any faith in the current management team to do so.
