I thought Carr was good. Could only fault him on the goal where he lost sight of the puck

I had to watch it once I got home and although it was quite boring, it was to be expected.
- Nobody dropping the gloves but no need to in either game + no point in pre season.
- Considering the line ups, the flames held their own quite well
- Some terrible calls. Sure most of them were legit but they would let the same thing slide when the canucks did it.
- Love watching Bennett...he really needs to get a goal out of the way because I feel he is forcing some shots just to get that goal.
- So excited to watch a combination of the last 2 games best players put together!
- I know many felt Kanzig looked poor however I feel he would be a perfect partner for a quicker defensive D man. Guys get around him on the rush but he almost always forces them behind the net into a turnover as they are too scared to cut in on him.

I was lucky enough to get row 6 seats behind the flames bench on this one. A few notes, though I am a terrible scouter:

Bennett: He has some speed and moves, but was muscled off the puck easily a couple of times. Will need to put on some weight to last a full NHL season.

Byron: What the hell does this guy eat. He is SO fast. I was trying to study his skating technique but couldn't figure out how his first few strides were so good. He easily catches up to people on the backcheck. World class speed for sure.

McGrattan: Didn't do anything and seemed like his timing was off. Frightning being even 10ft away from that stare. Gotta love him.

Kanzig: This guy is huge, and seemed reasonably steady.

Setoguchi: He did not impress and was quite slow. Not very good at backchecking.

Acolatse: Was reasonably impressed; not sure why Dorsett speared him though.

Granlund: Didn't do too much.

Reinhart: Seemed to work hard but couldn't get much going.

Sorry, not a great report but just some observations.

You're joking, right? In the first game, the Canucks didn't dress their first line, their first string goalie and their top four defencemen.
