If its less than 10, then as far as I'm concerned you have no F'n idea what people are going through. Just read the posts and move on. Resist the urge to reply with anything that you think on this topic.
Read this for a bit of perspective on the situation:

Times of India: Toll may cross 1,000, Uttarakhand CM says

It's certainly a shame that people are suffering property damage, but it's all material damage that can be replaced. Be thankful that we live in a place that has the infrastructure and emergency services in place to deal with this type of disaster. It looks like the city is going to get through this without any major injury or loss of life, and that speaks to the competence that our emergency services have demonstrated throughout this event.

Seems he didn't read all the posts. I think people react to stuff "too fast" without putting any thought into it. Pylon is doing his share to help out, inviting people into his home, making them breakfast and lending them his car. The guy is a trooper and obviously cares about the city and his neighbors.

Lighten up, pylon has stated that he has let people into his home, offered to assist people with the cleanup of their places and has in general been an upstanding citizen in trying times. To jump down his throat at the suggestion that there have been worse occurrences that have happened in the cities past seems pretty childish at the current time. It isn't as though he is blissfully unaware of the damage but rather is putting it into a personal context of bad.

(Probably brought up two or three times in this thread already)

But anybody else pissed that the NHL fails to see any of this as newsworthy? No statement, no mentions, no little article somewhere on their page. Zero recognition despite the ####show the organization is going to have to go through.

Even if they don't give a damn about our NHL building, you think all the artifacts and memorabilia from the '89 championship being destroyed by the water would at least do it for them. I'm less a fan of the league today for damn sure.

It was linked on the main page of NHL.com yesterday when the story broke.

You're just overreacting, as usual.

Also what would the NHL, an organization based in New York, be able to do with absolutely zero information about the situation. Right now there is no information because everything is under water. When the water levels recede and they are able to determine the damages, then the NHL can look at what needs to happen going forward, including a reworking of the schedule.

Would it be fair to assume the Hitmen will be playing at the Max Bell?

or maybe the Corral depending on the condition it's in I would imagine....I would think Winsport could be another option too, not sure what the capacity but it's a nice rink

No I'm pointing out he doesn't have a crisis. He's comparing a nep program which affected him with a flood that isn't.

Even if the Saddledome had to be shut down for the start of the season, almost certainly no. The Corral would be the best option, assuming it was undamaged. After that, COP is the next largest arena available.

Biggest arena at Winsport is 2500 plus 500 standing room. The other 3 are 200-300 at best.

I don't think you read his prior post. Per above his politicizing the thread and making a rediculous comparison to the nep

No, he's comparing an economic disaster that gutted the city with an environmental disaster that gutted the city. And that comparison was made within the context of what the worst day in our city's history is.

Agree or disagree with his opinion all you want, it hardly warrants a hissy fit.

I have a tough time thinking the Dome will be ready for next season. This is pretty bad damage.. and there's not a lot of time to get this cleaned up and repaired. But that's just a guess... I imagine that someone from the Predators organization would be better qualified to estimate a time on repairs then anyone in the Calgary media/management.

Oh! I haven't been to the new winsport, just one of the smaller rinks as a venue for my hockey.

I was assuming the Corral would be a mess as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if assistance like this has already been offered by Nashville. They were quick to offer support to the Flames albeit by social media, but being how small the hockey world is I wouldn't be surprised to see Nashville send some people over to help us.
