Arghh. A leadoff double and it's a struggle for the Jays to even advance him 90'. A big 0-4 RISP with a GIDP already. Need to find a way to score these runs against the Rays.

Jays have 8 hits and 2 walks through 4. Scored 1 run. 1-10 RISP. Going to be one of those days.

The Rays are still fundamentally better at every position than the Jays. Until the Jays can figure out a way to turn the corner against the Rays they will never make any noise in the division. It's just incredible how one team consistently goes 15-6 year over year against the other.

Like this is just embarrasing now. Outscored 24-8 in the last 24 hours.

This homestand started so positively but will now finish at 4-4. A failure at home considering the opponents. The Jays still have a long way to go before anyone takes them seriously.

Man this team, other than that one long winning streak (was it 10 games?) they cannot get any kind of a roll going. Basically a .500 team in the other 80% of the season. Every time they look like they're getting some traction, they give it all back one way or another.

Stretch of weaker opponents coming now. Hopefully they can get on a roll finally.

Imagine having a guy like Adam coming out of the pen. Dude came in at the first sign of real trouble and made the Jays look foolish. 6 swings and misses in 8 pitches.

Game of missed opportunities against the Rays.

Where have we heard that before.

And against two of the hottest hitters in all of major league baseball too.

Must be nice to have weapons like that coming out of the pen.

This team is frustrating and losing to the Rays is endlessly headache inducing.

Anyway onto Oakland for the Jays.

Meanwhile, the Rays and the Red Sox play each other. Can't they just both lose.

Nah that's not good enough. All teams have to go through that and the other team had to play as much as we did.

Just couldn't get it done and that sucks.

16-11 wins it for me. I feel like it'll come down to a hot or cold streak in the next month on this bet.

How quickly a weekend can change things. I figured our bet would come down to a losing or winning streak. This weekend has now made winning the bet a pipe dream, lol.

We'll see, but the combination of what it would now take and the way the Jays are playing would make it really difficult. They'd now have to go 17-8.

Teen killed in boating accident on James River, presumed to be Julia Budzinski

Quote:
According to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, on the afternoon of Saturday, July 2, two juveniles were floating on the river on an inflatable tube being pulled by a boat when they fell into the water.

The operator of the boat turned it around to get them, and in doing so created a wave that changed the trajectory of the boat. The boat went over one of the teens, a 17-year-old girl, and she was struck by the propeller. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Jesus.

Don't want to be "that" guy, but wow.

I'm not sure what you mean by being "that" guy, but either way, that sounds like a horrific way to die. What a terrible tragedy for Mark Budzinski.
