Not sure everyone will care but Tyson is pretty upset about this. He isn't getting any compensation, as far as he is concerned they stole his life story.
That's f'd up. I just assumed he was involved in the production.

Can you explain how they can make his life story without his consent ?
Days before Tyson’s most recent statements, series creator Steven Rogers explained his position during a virtual Television Critics Association panel on Aug. 4. “We actually couldn’t talk to him because his life rights were already taken, so that was never on the table,”

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
The more I watch it the more I realize it's basically a clone of My Name is Earl, and that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
Jack is basically the Earl character
Gloria is very close to Catalina
Rooster is a combination of Crabman and Randy
Barb is 100% an older version of Joy
Melvin and Wiggles remind me of that guy who fenced stolen stuff out of the storage locker and his Russian wife
They even have Tim Stack as a TV host!
All we need is Patty the daytime hooker and the whole gang would be back.

Except Earl had Margot Robbie's twin sister Jamie Pressly in it.
Spoiler!

So, because of this thread I decided to try the show 'The Bear.'
One episode in and its pretty good overall, lots of potential.
I will say this however: If you, at some point in your life suffered the misfortune of working as a line cook or almost any restaurant position this show will give you PTSD flashbacks.

We finished "The Bear" last week. Pretty great and reminded me a lot of the show runner's other show "Atlanta". Same style of dealing with the mundane, with odd/surreal moments thrown in. Great character work.
I want to see more for sure, but I will say that some of the episodes left me wanting. Definitely worth the watch overall.

The first episode gave me anxiety - and i have never been a line cook
Under the Banner of Heaven has been really excellent. I think I’d put it up there with first season of True Detective. Haven’t recognized any Calgary landmarks though.
