It went from a decent drama with potential for something deeper to a cheap network melodrama. Not only did all of their storylines go full daytime soap stupidity but they also dropped the ball on the few storylines that had some political or social depth.
Billy Crudup is great though. Lone bright spot.

I completely agree. I only finished that 2nd season for Crudup alone. Pretty weak follow up to a good first season.

Stephen Merchant, Christopher Walken in kind of a quirky, dark comedy.
Really enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to add my recommendation for “The Outlaws” on Prime. Two seasons out now. We’re fans of the British comedies in our house, so it may not be for everyone, but I think it was a great show that flew under our radar.

Episode 7 titled “The Review” is one of the greatest episodes of a TV show ever made. It is one continuous shot with no cuts or breaks. The Bear is probably my favourite TV show released this year.
Just watched E7 tonight.
Incredible episode of television.
The Bear is absolutely must watch.
You have to watch it.

Just finished the whole thing. Man what a great show. I almost want to re-watch The Boys and see how it changes the way I view Homelander.
Banshee spoilery thing (even though it's from like 10 years ago)
Spoiler!
I was so pissed when Chayton killed Siobhan and then immediately sad. Watching Hood go through that was pretty tough. Loved the hole he made in Chayton's head at the end of that arch though.

Actually almost hard to recognize them as the same actor, imo.
Banshee one of my all-time favorites.
Hood is so great
(and what a group of bad-ass women)
And Hoon Lee. So many great characters actually.

I don't know why I like this show, as the plots are nonsensical (not Python-esque, but just dumb), but I do. Likely the humour. It comes off like they have excellent comedic writers to do the jokes and the satirical social commentary while the serious bits are done by a drunk intern who uses 80s action movies as a template.

I agree for the most part, but they have used this technique a lot that I'm not sure has a name or how to describe it very well. It's this fast talking, long monologue type thing where he just opens his heart and says everything he's holding back I guess. It was a technique very prevalent on Grey's Anatomy when I used to watch it years ago with my then wife and would drive me crazy. It also seems to be very prevalent on the Morning Show and Crudup did it a few times if I remember right.
Also... Discovered this while looking for Welcome to Wrexham on Disney+
I 100000% will be watching this.

Not sure everyone will care but Tyson is pretty upset about this. He isn't getting any compensation, as far as he is concerned they stole his life story.
