Get a good VP and start running a campaign...Trump isn't turning anyone else to his side. Get out the vote (especially young and female) and you win. Its pretty simple

If I was a US voter, this would be my thought process too. Biden just didn't seem competent, so Trump would've been the only option. Now that Biden is gone, Harris is both more competent and less of a criminal than Trump, so she gets my vote.
When it was Biden/Trump, it was really about who would do less harm to the nation. Now that there's a competent other option, it seems like a no-brainer. Of course, I'm not an actual US voter and have no idea how someone like Trump got to be in this position in the first place.

Idk the GOP narratives are hilariously pathetic and they're flailing badly right now.
They spent the last 6+ months pushing a "candidate is too old" line and now they have the old man candidate.
They agree with the Copmala persona so pointing out her DA/Senator policies on crime get no traction.
She's a pretty blank slate without much political dirt in the end, so they've resorted to posting videos like "she is a normal person that laughs a lot" and trying to pretend having a personality makes her unelectable, and attempting to poison the well with far-left voters who have known who she is for a long time.
Neither are working, and the racism/sexism is already crawling out of the woodwork en masse, which they somehow kept a lid on in 2020.

Well at the very least if Trump wins, people can start making jokes about how he can only beat women, not because it's true, but just because of how much it will infuriate him, and in his mind expose him as the weak little coward that he knows that he is.

When I was down in Tennessee last fall, stores were selling shirts that said "Never Surrender" under his mugshot, which was taken after he surrendered to police.

The one thing I read yesterday was that as Bidens VP, Harris can inherit any of the contributions made to his campaign which at this stage would be an almost insurmountable advantage.

Any chance we can merge the two unhinged American politics threads? It’s difficult tracking the different bits of insanity in separate places

While we're at it, we could probably also merge in the "I Don't Want To Live On This Planet Anymore" thread.

Yes the way the Dems had it structured all of the contributions were made to Biden-Harris, so the funds can just be spent on getting Harris elected.
I haven't heard it confirmed, but I think they also told all of the campaign staff in all the small local office that it's status quo, so they don't need to layoff everyone / rehire everyone. By this time they probably have several hundred people being paid full time to work on the campaign and even if just on paper changing their employer over would be a frustrating hurdle.

One good thing about this news is that it has pretty much pushed the sniper attempt on the pumpkin out of the headlines.

Huh? You think trump is more competent than Biden? He's every bit as demented and he's also a narcissist, rapist and criminal that is likely in bed with Russia. Trump isn't more competent than a rock. And you think he'd do less harm to the nation?

I just meant I hardly ever see them. You don't really walk or drive around and see the place littered with them like this:
Maybe it's illegal to put them on public property here or something. I honestly have no idea.

I'm assuming that HOA rules play a significant role in reduced signs. There generally aren't many HOAs across Canadian cities but are quite popular in the US. They generally have pretty tight rules on signs, flags and general upkeep and usage of property.

It’s troubling how many people try and rationalize a vote for Trump by saying it was (or still is)two equally bad choices, or even that Trump is in a way preferable. Yet I continue to see that narrative in this thread. It’s honestly insane to try and frame the election as equally bad choices.

I was more commenting on the thought process of Americans. I would not vote for Trump, even against Biden, but I can see how after those debates some might. Biden was really really bad. It would have been a choice between someone who was so mentally not there that they were no longer able to do the job and someone who is totally self-serving.
Now, thankfully, it's a better paradigm.
