No but its like groundhog day. Markstrom let's in 2nd shot. Calgary makes it close and even gets the lead. Team blows it. Atleast find new ways to lose.

Where was Lindholm tonight? I didn't catch all the game but the parts I did see he was completely invisible. Looking at the numbers I see he got an assist on the power play, 20 minutes of ice, 0 shots on net and -2. Granted I missed a lot of the game but I think its safe to say you'd expect more from your #1 centre who is supposedly capable of being 1c on a championship caliber team (according to some), on the road, against a good team, in a tight game. The parts I did see, Markstrom was outstanding, I actually feel for him tonight.

The Flames didn’t get Jokinen from the Panthers. They got him from the Coyotes.

That's still not a 10.5 million dollar player though
Based on what? Inflation?

Based on, 115 point to 55 points is a sharp statistical drop, and in the vast majority of cases you'd expect a regression to the mean to follow

Breakaway. 2 on 1. Players left all alone in front. Giveaways. The defensive play wears the goat horns tonight, along with some of the team's supposed 'best' players either having a quiet night (Huberdeau) or being downright awful (Kadri). Clean up a bunch of terrible defensive plays (Backlund very rarely has brain cramps defensively like he did on the tying goal) and Markstrom gets a very deserving victory. He continues to play like tonight and he's not a concern at all.
Ya he made the big saves but he struggled with a lot of shots, those shots didn’t cost anything today but it’s a different story on another night, just like it’s been for most of the season.

Looked like a fun game, but I can't shake the feeling this is just the 2020-21 season all over again with a different cast.

Didn’t we trade for Jokinen twice? Or am I losing it?

Maybe we can acquire Huberdeau twice.

Interesting to see Rangers fans hyping this as the game of the season so far

(The Oilers media will take exception to that!)

They must not be used to teams playing old school hockey out east like the Flames are attempting to do under Sutter

Glad we brought entertainment to an nhl rink

Nope, we traded him to the Rangers for Kotalik and Higgins, then he signed with the Flames in the summer.

You can’t seriously think worse of the Flames after this game than before. They played good, lots of speed, quick transitions, attack of the rush, good cycles. Ya they made some mistakes and some unfortunate turnovers but this was definitely a better played game by them than most of the season. Finally showed speed and offence, turnovers can be cleaned up

He also straight up saved a goal. I think it was in OT (not that it mattered with Zadorov stepping onto the ice shortly thereafter)

As I recall we acquired Jokinen from the Coyotes.

A trade that remains as mystifying today as it did when it went down.
