Biz is going to win this bet by forfeit. The only place the Oilers are going to be dancing is out of Roger's place on Garbage Bag day.
Did you look when the video was made?

100%. You win in this league by checking and keeping the puck out of your net. It's the only way to get stability and reliability of results from night to night. Otherwise every night becomes a chance fest and a coin flip.

The Leafs are proof that you can't outscore your problems in the long run, no matter how much firepower you have up front.

Just score more than your opponents on any given night - there's no playing catchup when you do that.

Anyway, I have to say Vasilevskiy is pretty damn good goalie. But Johnny was better!

I like that Sutter has them playing with playoff intensity on 90% of nights in the regular season.

This way they don't have to "adjust" to the playoff style of game. They need only approach it the way they have for the past number of weeks, and just buckle down on the details.

Teams that are set up to fail play with a variation of intensity or physicality down the stretch based on the opponent. Its much harder to play a pure skill game then try to turn on the physical side of the game suddenly in game 83.

If you didn't watch the video, watch it. One of the more insightful interviews he's given of late (when he wants to share, I'm not sure there's a better coach to learn from) and it's almost 10 minutes long on a variety of topics.

Now I know why Biz has been ragging on the Oilers all this season on twitter. I wonder if he is a Flames fan, or just doesn't like the Oilers? Or he is only a Flames fan for this bet?

With Biz I think most of it comes down to certain players that he likes, and he loves a lot of the Flames guys, especially the management he absolutely loves Treliving and Maloney from their time in Phoenix. I don't think he dislikes the Oilers other than to #### with Whit

I thinks he’s mostly just a flames fan for the bet, but he was pumping the flames pretty good leading up to the bet. If I you listen to his and Whitney’s preseason predictions, they both had Calgary out of the playoffs.

Biz is a coyotes fan first and a Leafs fan second I believe. That said I think Biz may have a soft spot for the former coyotes executives now working for Calgary in treliving and Maloney if nothing else maybe

Actually if you could go super duper hard so you're exhausted tomorrow that would be great too.
I guess it happens so much that Oilers fans just automatically assume they'll be getting a team the night after playing in Calgary.

Is Vasilievsky's "hard look" at Gaudreau after the second "bounce it off your ass" goal the best moment of the season?

It's amazing.

This Sutter presser is one of the best EVER...he is expansive...explains how he sees the game...just fantastic. And he speaks in whole sentences (mostly)!

JK. It's a great insight into why he coaches the way he does. He doesn't care about the fluff....there is a central core to his message and he preaches it relentlessly and has instilled it from the first road trip.

No wonder:
In Sutter We Trust.

Huh.

That came in reference to penalty killers and what would happen to them if they have to kill more than 6 minutes in a game and you add that to their 18-19 minutes of 5 on 5, but I still want to believe he's hinting at E=NG even though that would only apply to Draisaitl.
