In a must win game as well. Flames deserve tons of credit for shutting them down, but if you're an Oiler fan you were probably expecting a much better effort in such an important game.
McDoofus already looks like he's checked out. The supposed "best player in the game" only has 2 points in his last 3 games. Two of those were against bottom feeder teams, and all of them were games that the Oilers desperately needed to win if they wanted to stay in the race.

Calgary couldn’t get anything for Ryan at the trade deadline last year. I doubt the Oilers get any offers this year.
I could see teams taking a flyer on Macleod. He has wheels.

The fact that the Oilers have had 2 goals against disallowed while playing Montreal and got their only goal tonight off an assist from a referee, not only are the salt mines operating on 150% capacity they have to perform some mental gymnastics to validate their 'NHL is against them' Conspiracy theories.

The Flames had 8 home games rescheduled due to COVID. Tonight was the 8th and final make-up game (they still have 2 road games at the end of April).
They went 8-0-0 in the make-up games and none of their opponents left the Saddledome with even a single point.

It is interesting to watch the number of PGT posts as the season goes on for the Flames. I think we are getting too accustomed to winning and not appreciating the effort here enough here.

Koskinen got quite a break from the refs as well...he kept grabbing the puck when there wasn't too much action around...holding on to it for a second or two, before deciding what to do with it. On one of the faceoffs there was a shot of a ref talking to him (didn't see which one), but it looked like he was getting a warning. But he kept on doing it and never got a DOG penalty.
