Wow....dumb.
Kings won't make the playoffs.

Why did they do this now instead of pulling the trigger earlier as they aren't scoring, Quick just came back , and they trade for Bishop.

This is like watching an M Night Shyamalan movie....starts really good but ends very weirdly.

Maybe Lombardi and Sutter shared peyote yesterday and came too today and said Oh it's too late but lets do it anyway for shots and giggles.

Wow....smh

Didn't Iggy asked to be trade if possible? Even if he wasn't moved by today, he would've been in free agency over the summer anyway.

If Flames don't win Cup, I'm 100% behind Iggy and Daryl. Sue me.

Only because of Iggy. I hate most of the rest of that team.

But yes. If the Flames have a quick out.

He should pick #72. It looks like 12 and he'll fit right in with all the other "70's" in LA

It's actually too bad Carter has 77. Otherwise he could be like Crosby and McDavid and use his birth year

I'm not happy it's the Kings, but I hope it's a meaningful last ~20 games for the guy and he can go out with a somewhat relevant stretch of play.
It's really quite weird all the disappointment in him going to LA. If this was the past 2 seasons, everyone would be excited for him. LA is not out of the playoff hunt. Not even close. Flames were way more down and out earlier in the season, and look at where a couple of hot streaks has gotten us. If there is one fan base that should be eating crow for writing off a team for not being in the playoff picture, it's this fan base. Some people should know better then to count a team out with plenty of time to go...

Also forgotten is that if LA does make, they are the immediate favourite to win the series. Probably the only time an 8th seed is the favourite, and the top seed in the West is the underdog. That's how it's going to be.

So while LA making the playoffs is not a guarantee, if they DO make it, you'd have to think they are one of the favourites in the West. They always are. Their issue is just making it to the dance. But when they do make the dance, it's foolish to bet against them.

I like this for LA. And I'm definitely not going to be crying about it like some here are. You'd think he'd gotten traded to the Canucks or Oilers the way some people are moping around. The Kings aren't our rivals. They aren't hated like the Oilers, Canucks, or even Ducks are. I don't get all the hate for them. Did everyone whine this much when Regehr went there??

I'm happy for Iggy. I hope LA makes it. And if they do make it, I'd bet on them to do some damage.

What if both LA & Calgary make it and we play against him in the playoffs?!
That would be amazing and heartbreaking all at once.

I've always cheered for the Kings because of Darryl and when Regehr was there. Them getting Iginla will make me cheer for them again.

I hope they win every game not against the Flames down the stretch and take the Oilers playoff spot.

All within a few points, they aren't all gonna have great records...and the teams that do will be taking points from others

92 points (likely less) gets it done

LA also has 3 wins in their last 10 games
The pint also is that, all but one (likely) of those listed teams will make the playoffs. All the Flames have to do is not be the worst of those teams. Getting to 92 points pretty much guarantees that the Flames aren't the worst of those teams.

I disagree. They just don't have the depth anymore.

This and the Bishop trade both look like desperation moves. Kings are fading away into the sunset.

I actually kinda feel bad for Iggy. He keeps getting dealt to the wrong teams and he's running out of time.

The Kings are done. They were already a slow club, this makes it worse. I love how we match up against them and we have 3 more games. I think we sweep them.

I'm really glad the Flames didn't go after Iggy. I love Iggy and he's going to be one of my favorite players of all time but he has no place on this team. I've said before that I wouldn't want him to come in because I think it could disrupt the chemistry in the room and cause a split.

I'm so much more happy that the team went out and got someone almost half his age who could have a future beyond this year with the team.
