Perfect deal. Low cap hit, six years is more than long enough, most triumphant.

Hey, wow awesome. Seven would have been my preferred term but that's a very livable cap hit.
Welcome back Johnny.

Great deal. Very happy with the term and dollars. Hopefully we pick up PAP or Pulkinnen (Spelling might be wrong sorry).

So happy we get to watch this guy for this long. If only we can get a new arena and hire his Dad to work in it.

Even if Gaudreau didn't care for the end number at present, six years is forever in hockey life. So much can change between now and then, especially with how old he is right now.

Way less AAV than I thought he would get, so I am happy (I thought just under $7.5 would be the number). I imagine Gaudreau figures he will prove himself and make it up after this contract, which is fair.

8m a year less for Johnny and Monny when compared to Kane and Toews. I know they're proven winners but the value difference isn't represented in strict production.
That buys a lot of flexibility. It could be a top ten d man, upping younger guys contracts, or 1.3333 Milan lucic's.

Not even worried the contract won't get done before the start of the season. I am not going to claim I know exactly what are the reason(s) it took to sign the contract this long and I don't really care. The important for now is will have a full team when season starts on Wednesday.
I'll be in Edmonton for the week starting tomorrow and hoping to see the season opener in the new arena but I can't believe how much the ticket is worth. Looks like I'll be watching on TV in my hotel.
