They need somebody who pushes the tempo of the play.

...like Poirier.

Have you seen the roster he won with in Vancouver.

Only time I remember the experts picking Canada out of the medals pre-tournament and they won with ease. That was far from a all-star team.

This year again the team is far from star studded and he has done a great job.

Looks like they may lose this one it they have been better than the Fins and deserve to be winning . Hard to blame Sutter for the bounces and officiating .

Luckily for Patan, Winnipeg is terrible. He should get a look, but yeah, he needs to develop a ton.

And this period has been like watching Calgary play... oy.

Canada are being completely outworked by a much hungrier team. Finland has played them perfectly.

Neither of these teams stand a chance against either of the teams from the earlier game. These kids can barely put together a single pass.

But yes very few Canadian players look good. Drouin obviously. Mantha shows flashes but even then it's not a sure thing. Horvat looks like an NHLer but not a scoring player. Griffin Reinhart looks good as a top 4 D. Lazar will be a good energy player. But otherwise, yikes, not alot there.

Real chance that this team could leave Sweden without a medal....be the first time since the beginnings of this tournament that Canada will have gone more than one year in a row without a medal of some kind (1979-1981).

Crazy.

It would have been really cool to see Monahan play in this tournament as the #1 C.

Absolutely laughable watching Canada trying again and again to skate the puck through 5 guys.

Finland made it clear two days ago they were going to play the trap today and still Canada wasn't ready for it. Either that's on coaching or the players are just not listening.

Completely unwilling to dump the puck in and go after it. This is a very easy team to dislike - they don't have the talent to play a skill game but think that they do and refuse to play a north-south game.

Combine that with the inability to complete a tape-to-tape breakout pass today and it's pathetic to watch.

The issues with this team started in the selection stages.

Not enough speed or goal scoring talent.

Max Domi would be helpful right now.

Poirier speed and energy would be useful too.

Agreed completely with your argument re: Vancouver. Christ, they won with Justin Pogge in net.

But don't sell Finalnd short here. They've been the better team, and they deserve to be where they are right now.
