I know its early and all but the team unity and enthusiasm is really evident. All the gifs and clips posted, you would have thought this was a game 7 playoff game type situation.
Love it. Haven't seen that kind of solid team effort for a while...

He sits there during the 3rd period. The guy who sits there during the first two takes Ken's seats for the last.

In some circles that would be characterised as a special level of crazy.

Sorry for the delay in replying, got caught off-guard by 1 of our shot blockers getting injured. Funny it wasn't Bouma who was taken bullets to the chest.
This isn't a small sample size TC.

You're right. It isn't.
Which is why it is all the more bewildering (and sadly hilarious) that you REFUSE to acknowledge what is overwhelmingly clear. Backlund has been an NHL regular for two seasons now, has increased his pts/game totals in each of those, and has only been held out of the lineup in that time because of injury. Over the course of the calendar year, he has dramatically improved his board play and his strength on the puck, and has emerged as the team's undisputed best forward in the defensive zone. It is preposterous to continue to believe that a player with his skill, his commitment to improvement, and his zeal is somehow destined to substantially regress to the point of being scratched and released from his NHL team.
You're opinion is not rational. You clearly are latched on to a now antiquated idea about what sort of player Backlund is, even though he has unequivocally surpassed it.

I'm starting to believe that Where ru Chris O'Sullivan's ex girlfriend is the ice girl that Backlund is dating.

Is Backlund dating one of the ice girls? That should go well post break up, she'll shovel the snow on his skates after each time out.

Backlund is an average 3rd line center on a contending team.
Still a good player thru the rebuild.

timbit's not wrong.
But I think the point here is that Michael Backlund is still a NHL player on EVERY NHL team. Yes, he is probably centering the third line on a competitive team with centre depth, but by no stretch of the imagination is he teetering on the edge of seeing his NHL career end prematurely. It's laughable to imagine that he will be forced out and playing in another league by next year.

haha, yeah. My point was the annoying definite statement game some posters like to play. The whole is or isn't, what line he can play on etc is easily up for debate and the stance of him being a 2nd liner on a contending team is one I'd consider too. Just an annoying pet peeve that's all.

He'll arbitrarily move the goal posts again. Half a season lost to the lock out? Move the deadline up an entire year!
