If I were GM, I would be irate at the Flames players. What Kipper needs to do is surrender 3 soft goals, and have the rest of the team mail it in. The Flames need that #1 Overall pick!
Kipper is not playing so tough for him to allow any goals.

Not sure what that post had to do with what I posted but this is a pretty awfully played game.
Watch a replay if the Kings-Blackhawks game from a week ago or the Kings-Ducks game last night and you will see good back and forth hockey from teams that actually know how to play the game.
You're bang on with this, disagreements about Brodie aside. This is a horrid game. Good hockey is poetry in motion. This is a chore.

Actually i say the Avs should finish last and win the lottery because there is no way they are not going to pick Jones. If the Flames finish 2nd last they can nab Mackinnon easily and make sure Florida doesn't get him. Win-win for everybody. But still it would be nice to get pick #1...

I guess I've got a soft spot for the Czech. I'd love if we had the room to shelter his minutes and put him out there on the PP with some of our kids. We only got a little taste of Cervenka this season and for a lot of fans it's probably no love lost. I still wish we got to see a Cervenka healthy right off the bat, more comfortable and stress free, etc. Maybe I'll get my wish.

I think he has done great for his draft position and never said he is done developing either. I just said he has been fine as a number 4 and over his head when asked to do more.
I would say Bouw and Gio much more composed with the puck which should be expected.
fair enough. I may overvalue Brodie's composure relative to his youth because he never looks rattled, whereas I constantly noticed Bouw and gio doing things players of their experience shouldn't.
And I agree, there are times he's looked overmatched. He's supposed to be. How he handles that is crucial to him becoming a core player. And I think he's handling this seasons adversity better than many of the veterans.
This is what leads me to think he has some captain material. It probably shouldn't be next year, but I don't think we should have a captain next year anyway.

Roman Horak is turning out to be an interesting piece moving forward. I sometimes wonder what the eff the Flames management watch for. He does everything right.

Completely disagree... Flames won't have to move players to resign cervenka and you can still add a couple ufa's. The real question is if roman wants to stay in the NHL, and does Hartley even want him on the team... I think a full off-season and training camp will do wonders, but I guess we will see...
