That's why I'm sure they'll all be real grateful for the Red Wedding and getting rid of 30 characters in one clean sweep.

Oh noes! I just finished reading A Feast For Crows, and now I have to wait 11 weeksfor my mass paperback of A Dance With Dragons to arrive!! This is so unfair!!
A Feast For Crows was largely dull after the crazy last third of ASOS. I hope ADWD picks things up a bit. But, Dany chapters. Urgh.

ADWD was mildly entertaining, nothing compared to ASOS.
It sets up the next book nicely. Hopefully Mr. Martin picks up the pace and releases it within the next couple years.

So I just noticed that Xaro features prominently in ADWD. And yet he was presumably killed at the end of season 2. Hmmmm. Wonder how they'll handle that.

That's a preety easy one
"I had a trap door" "someone let me out"
there was one character that GRRM said the tv show killed but will play a decent size pard in WoW, can't remember who exactly but it was a Dothraki
I would imagine that when they do something like that they ask him to make sure

Has anyone else gone on the Wiki page and read the chapter summaries just to understand what in the hell they just read?

I actually think they may not even bring him back and will just work around him.
As for checking the asoiaf wiki, yes to a certain extent. I often am not 100% sure what they're talking about with relation to a specific character, place or even event.
I've been checking a lot less the 2nd time around though.

The wiki didn't exist when I first started reading the series, and I don't even think of it while I'm reading. But I do go and read it every no and again just to remember some of the specifics or to get a different perspective.
There are still things that most people seem to have taken for granted, or have even been full admitted by Martin, but I never picked up on in reading (or, in some cases, still don't see in re-reading). Which is fine, it has happened in other series, too.

AT THE SAME TIME!?!

It appears to be. Robert's about to brain Rhaegar from the looks of it. I don't know who the dude on the right with the axe is though.

The third season of the hit HBO series will focus on the first half of A Storm of Swords, the third novel in Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire saga. Some events in the novel will be shifted around in the adaptation, so Martin's still not sure which major events in the books will appear in season three and which will appear in season four, but he knows which of those events is most on his mind.
"I don't know that the word 'looking forward to' is the word I want, but I'm anticipating but also dreading a certain event with the initials R.W., and that's all I can say about it," Martin said.
|
based on how they did this season, my guess is the R.W is episode 9 like blackwater was season 2, and then the final shot of the season in the finale is Lady Stoneheart

I can't wait for the reaction in the TV thread when the RW goes down.

lol, the paperback has now been delayed until March. Maybe to coincide with next TV season? Regardless, I just got back home with my hard copy of ADWD, because I'm tired of waiting. The irony.

I originally planned on getting them all in paperback, but by the time book 3 rolled around I was getting too impatient so have been getting the hardcovers since them (except ADWD which I bought as an ebook since it was really cheap when it first came out).
