I don’t live in Calgary but am watching several races closely around the province. I hope this crook (Magliocca) goes down hard.

I disagree, the rules are to help combat political charges, arrests, and incarnations; same reasons the government can't take away your right to vote, and why jail's have polling stations.
It's up to citizens to prevent guys like this from getting elected.
We've literally had a traitor as an MP, well not us, Manitoba did.

This seems sub-optimal for his re-election bid.

Very true and great point. I think we in the west have gotten a bit complacent on the protection of democracy front. Post trump it should be a bit more fresh in people’s minds what politicians are capable of trying to do

He knows voters are dumb and is counting on them never even hearing about this.
Sadly, he's not wrong

I am sure this energizes his base. That a Federal body is working to sabotage a local non party affiliated councilor.
Cause they’re basically a puppet to Trudeau and his ideological war on oil, the west, and…low property tax?

Provided polls are closed. Line ups delay results.

It might have been a good idea not to have this logo at the top of each ballot.

McRae seems totally competent, and if there weren't other better choices I wouldn't have a big problem with voting for her. I don't think either of them will be a bad councillor. There are people who I respect who are huge fans of McRae.
That said, I'm a little cynical of political-consultant-turned-politician, and her platform sounds like so much classic political speak, saying just enough to sound like you have ideas while stopping short of actually giving any detail that might turn anyone off. She comes across as somewhat buzz-wordy to me in that regard. I don't love all of Waite's platform. But she's full of ideas, and she's not afraid share them and get into details. Just compare with way they talk about downtown revitalization in their platforms:
McRae: community and business-focused ideas, innovative partnerships, bold thinking backed up by action.
Waite: Take specific actions to attract families, retrofit an existing building into an elementary school, details about who we should be looking to attract to downtown, small and inexpensive arts projects to compliment the bigger capital investments that have already been made, connect walkable/bikeable routes off of the pathways and into downtown, etc.
Again, I don't agree with everything Waite suggests. More needs to be done than just those sorts of projects. But it's like that on almost every issue between the two candidates. Just being much more ideas-driven is what sets her apart for me.

Well, if he wins, I hope he focuses all his attention on snow removal, because that's the only one of his "ideas" that I don't think is completely wrong.

Already vote Wyness, wasn't 100% sure she would be my top choice, but a strategic mindset stopped me from considering it any further.
