The irrational hate that Druh gets is pretty annoying. She has been a damn good representative for this city.
I've never liked her, and yeah in this case she was one of the main voices against Flouride. It was her motion that got it removed in the first place. She even voted against this plebiscite, so not only is she against it, she's against us deciding for ourselves

I refuse to vote for anyone out of fear. I dislike how that plays out in American politics. If everyone keeps voting for the best of the two top options, I wonder how we are ever going to encourage growth of the ideal candidates.
It's not about fear, it's about strategy. The US has undergone 4 years of mayhem and is stuck with a conservative supermajority on the SC, thanks in large part to protest voters who voted for the green party in 2016.
The thing about fear is, sometimes it actually is justified. Sometimes being fearless really does lead to catastrophic consequences.
Druh against flouride in the water was always a head-scratcher to me. That said, she was the leftist on Council when that happened, but I think since its removal the results speak for themselves. It was a bad decision then, and it's a bad decision now. Flouride needs to be in Calgarian's water IMO.

The mayor is just one vote, while they are the face of the city it really has no resemblance to the US presidential election.
Or at least I have been told for years that the mayor is just one vote...

I heard her on Eyeopener one morning and she explained her reason for the fluoride removal decision and it made some sense that this was supposed to be in conjunction with other measures but none of those were ever done and the only thing that happened was fluoride was removed. Maybe somebody can elaborate more on the other things that were supposed to be done.

It went alongside some one time funding for more accessible dental care for those less well off. Health is a provincial responsibility and does not give the City any money to add fluoride. The proper fix would be accessible dental care for all, but that's not what we have so instead fluoride in the water is the best one can do at the City level.

Aside from more accessible dental care not being a city responsibility, it also isn't a replacement for fluoridated water. We could go crazy and have both.

With enough of that feared result, I would think there would be rising public pressure to change the voting system. Or other more conservative non radical parties would rise as well. At least there would be a surge in public involvement.

Daddy, where does money come from?
I think the reason the fluoride issue came up to begin with (when it was removed) had something to do with a million dollar upgrade or renovation as well?

Wait, but I thought Joe had some super secret evidence that proved he was set-up, but he just couldn't release it until after the election for some reason.

We really should have some better rules about who can run. And stuff that disqualifies you from running in the future.
I bet Joe has already collected a ton of donations and won't be giving them back even if this RCMP charge kills his campaign.
I know that Kent Hehr solicited and then accepted thousands in donations when he announced his run and then withdrew it within a few days and some donors did not have their funds returned.

What i got from this interview was that we've been paying for the water treatment but the other components have not been implemented under #AHS or the dental industry. With only city water flouridation, tooth decay rates were rising (note: seem to be even worse with out floridation)
