I think our team is getting better. First few games we only drank like 10-20 beers... now we're pushing 40-50!!

I'd say our average age is about 26. And we're not above taking out a collection of grey hairs that make up team SW.

Well, last night the Calgary Vipers scored six runs in the bottom of the ninth to take their game to extras before winning. We almost pulled off a similar miracle tonight, scoring eleven in the bottom of the 7th. Alas, it was not enough and we fell 27-23 in a defensive struggle...

And I mean that literally, cause man did we struggle. The wind wreaked havoc on the pitchers tonight as well.

FireFly even turned traitor on us (the other team needed an extra girl), which at least gave her and I a chance to get physical tonight... (calm down, we just tagged each other out)

On the bright side though, Redvan figured out how to pitch and not get drilled.

Holy, what a great comeback. Our team has some good moments, and some very bad ones. Best wishes to Kerplunk who probably needs to sit one of these weeks out to heal that hand.

Firefly was a traitor all along. Ever since I (ONE TIME) criticized her batting line-up, she has been looking for a chance to get off the team. What a cancer on the bench. I think that tonight was the most civilized game and most enjoyable one we have had all year.

Obviously kidding, but I'll be expecting a shin-kick for that. We missed you FireFly! I prefer your smack talk against our team coming from you when you are actually ON our team. But, how did it feel to get the big W tonight?

On related notes, as promised, I have to point out who "cleared the bases" tonight. It was fredr123 (!!!!!!) who refuses to count it as a HR because we have no fences. I count them. He is now second on our team, with 2 or 3 HRs. Well done buddy, some huge pitching as well.

Special thanks to the other team who did not hit either of my shins with a line-drive while I was pitching.

See you all next Thursday. Big layoff between games, are the Vipers in town? Or the Dawgs? Or even batting cage would be good for early next week.

Vipers are on the road after tonight, Dawgs are home next Monday and Tuesday.

And beyond batting cages, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to hit up a field and get a couple other people practicing their pitching. I'm sure fredr would like to spend more time not getting shellacked by his defence...

Yah, we shouldn't have traded away our other starter for future considerations. I enjoy spending time in the field committing errors. It's a nice break from serving up watermelons like last night.
