I think people are misrepresenting what she is saying. She isn't telling Canadians to cut Disney, she's giving an example from her household finances and saying she will do the same thing with government. Look at costs, and see what you don't need. This isn't advice for Canadians, it's a relatable example. This is dumb, move on.
I tried to explain that a few pages ago. It's got nothing to do with the household budgets of people! It's such a non-issue, and frankly I'd assume that CPC supporters would agree with her sentiment...although that could be the issue right there.

The solution is fairly simple even if China chooses not to play. The west just doesn’t want to pay the cost. Apply a Carbon tarrif to all goods imported.

China then is brought into line on emissions or their economy collapses. The west won’t do it.

So because it has to be repeated, I guess the conclusion in this thread is that Freeland haters are a bit slow in the head?

Of course not. That way lies a trade war, and worse.

So I read today that the PM is off to Cambodia for some function and will not be in the country on Friday.

It will be a real slap in the faces of vets if the PM leaves a few hundred million in Cambodia at this time of year

Yes, what kind of monster would be in Asia on official business on Remembrance Day:

Quote:
Harper, who is in Seoul for the G20 summit, was joined by British Prime Minister David Cameron and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard as they paid their respects to soldiers who fought in the Korean War of 1950-1953.

Quote:
Stephen Harper marked Remembrance Day with a visit to Hong Kong, where nearly 2,000 Canadians waged a grim but exceptionally valiant battle at the start of World War II that ended with hundreds being captured and sent to brutal Japanese prison camps.

On the last day of a swing through Asia, the prime minister visited Sai Wan War Cemetery, where many of the dead are buried from the Battle of Hong Kong, in which a contingent from Canada suffered one of the highest casualty rates in any theatre of action involving Canada during the Second World War.

Your misplaced outrage led me to learn something, so thanks!

Richer nations, including Canada, inch closer to paying for climate damage

Canada supports concept of climate compensation, but won't be held 'liable,' says environment minister

With Prime Minister Justin Trudeau skipping COP27 to focus on other events in Asia, Guilbeault is Canada's highest-ranking representative at the UN summit.

For many nations in the Global South, it's a fiercely held conviction that greenhouse gas emissions from wealthier countries are at fault for irreparable damage to their ecosystems, and that they should be compensated.

Canada accounts for about two per cent of global emissions. Canada's greenhouse gas emissions have been slowly falling since 2007. They peaked again in 2018, at the equivalent of 740 megatonnes of carbon dioxide, and have fallen the last two years for which there is data, said Guilbeault.
Canada should get paid for forgoing the benefits of opening up the Northwest Passage, defrosting the tundra for farming, and improving our climate.

Harper announced shutting down a number of Veterans Affairs offices when he was there though. So he had the Vets on his mind.

Outrage? I'm sure the post you quoted does not qualify as outrage....

Let's hope he dances better than he sings, teaches or governs.

While o would not say I was outraged, I will admit to being annoyed; however, after I posted I read the head of the legion seemed fine with it, so I will park my annoyance.

I will also admit that I was unaware that Harper also missed a ceremony. So fair enough.
