Depends how you measure 'winning'. If it's he who dies with the most money wins than, yeah, I guess he's doing okay.
I tend to think that when we die the only thing that's really left of us is the impact we had on other people and our reputation. If we're measuring by those standards, he is one of the biggest losers in a generation.

I guess everything could be considered brittle if you do something to break it.

I remember reading this early in my software development career. I then ignored it, and soon a project came up where I decided to do a full rewrite.
It ended up a near disaster, and only after several months consisting of many late nights and weekends did I get the product back to the original level of functionality. Lesson learned.

Yeah it FEELS like you can rewrite years worth of code in a shorter amount of time and do it better, but you usually can't.

Needless to say, it is a complete surprise that things like child sexual exploitation have gotten worse, and that the random grifters who admitted to looking at a lot of child porn on Twitter were not… in fact… being honest about how much child porn they were looking at.

Thanks for this. This guy knows what he is talking about. I ventured into his 'abstraction layer,' article, where I firmly sit, and agree completely. It helps me understand the coders that actually make the product we are trying to land.
Cool stuff.

Yup. Product guy.
Still blows my mind that know one at BMW, Mercedes, GM, Honda, Toyota or Ford ever rode a motorbike where the best thing is gunning it off the line and feeling the acceleration...and then realized that an electric motor can give you the same feeling and sold on that instead of trying to match energy density / range.

Is the Daily Beast one of those humor sites ?
https://twitter.com/user/status/1632799515999625216
Guess it doesn’t matter - BBC reported it too
https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-64804007
“Current and former employees of the company tell BBC Panorama that features intended to protect Twitter users from trolling and harassment are proving difficult to maintain, amid what they describe as a chaotic working environment in which Mr Musk is shadowed by bodyguards at all times. I've spoken to dozens, with several going on the record for the first time.”

Since he seems to be preoccupied at Twitter 24/7, does he just ignore his legions of kids? Does he even know their names?

Your argument doesn't work here. I don't like the guy but if he dies it can't be disputed that he had a massive impact on the world with Tesla accelerating the acceptance of EV's. He's arguably the most positively impactful person on the earth over the last 15 years. As with most of the richest people on the planet he's not a great guy but the byproducts of his business have been a huge positive for the planet and it made him the richest man on the planet in the process. If that's not winning then I don't know what is.

he's undoing that with his race to the bottom. With Twitter, he's supporting and enabling the worst of society, and helping repugnant views to again become socially acceptable.
yay. EV's acceptance has been accelerated but marginalized groups are being victimized an accelerated rate, and he keeps throwing gas on the fire.

Do you think that Tesla is a natural outcome of technology advancement. Toyota was already heavily invested in the world of hybrids and working toward plug in hybrids. In the absence of Tesla do we get to where we are now?

Now he's trying to discredit the BBC while posting clips from Fox News. Really great man for society. He's well on his way to destination Q-anon, it's only a matter of time now.

It is my sincere hope that Twitter employees quit en masse and Twitter just implodes and he loses all $44 billion he paid.
