Can't beat the contrast and the striping on the '04s. But picking between them and the retros is like picking between chocolate or strawberry ice cream.

Three Worst, but still better than the best Oiler jersey out there.
1. Heritage Classic Knock Off - specifically the incorrectly coloured bright red version that some people still wear out in public.
2. Pedestals - the red is slightly better than the white, but both suck.
Tied at 3. Reebok Flags & the "CALGARY" script. Adidas Flags were only a slight improvement.
Three Best
1. Current Retros - White slightly better than the red. Both are perfection and should never be changed.
2. 2004s - Only thing wrong with them is the number font.
3. Actual Heritage Classic - the maroon coloured one - Completely underrated.

I'm the guy that leaves the strawberry behind until the very end in the neopolitan carton.
Retros are a clear one for me, but I get that different ages see it differently.

The 04s are an average set. Memorable because of the 2004 run and the fact that all sorts of people who have gone to 4 or 5 or less Flames games in the past 20 years in this city, have one collecting dust in their closets.
But they're based on the (at the time 6 year old) Blasty templates from 1997 (including fonts and numbers), which then spawned the home whites with that template, when they dropped the red and white pedestal set in 2000, and Ken King finally brought back a red jersey with this color way on that template.
Flames primary uniform colors should be white/yellow(gold)and red. Full stop. Whether the current retro design or something new, those are the colors and should be the only colors.on primary jerseys.
Black can be on a third set, I guess, but it seems such a lazy cop out in design when, as his been discussed, there are alot more options with materials and manufacturing to be able to have a lot less restrictions then even 5 years ago with various deisgn elements and colors being able to be produced.
League wide jersey program is next season or the season after, similar to reverse retro and hopefully the Flames come up.with something a little more edgy for that one off.

I think the only thing keeping the ‘04 jersey from being a 10/10 for me is the black C. I’ve never liked the black C. My favourite C of all time is the white one with yellow and black outline from the pedestal jerseys.
I’ve also never liked Flames shirts or hats with the black C. I don’t know why, but I found it made for some pretty tacky looking apparel.

It's all about contrast:

Maybe this has been discussed already, but why aren't the flames wearing their third jersey (Blasty) this year? Thought I had heard NHL wasn't doing third jerseys in 21/22, but I am seeing other teams wearing their thirds (i.e. Capitals wearing their blue 'W' jerseys tonight vs the canucks, NJ's black and white 'Jersey' jerseys).
Maybe I am confusing 'alternate jerseys' with 'reverse retros'... I've lost track.

We'll quickly get to NBA levels where there's a million different special jerseys and they lose all meaning and excitement.

Yes, the Reverse Retros was a single season thing. The Flames' official third jersey last season was the flag jersey.
Given the popularity of them, I suspect we'll see the return of either the Reverse Retros or the original horsehead design (with the red bottoms and red logo on the shoulder) next season.

I predict a minimalist design, perhaps two colours total (black and red) with simple striping. Similar to what the Stars and the Oilers have done. A Blasty or Flaming C outline as primary cresting.

I hope not. I really dislike those two colour ones. Feel like practice jerseys/knock offs. Just do not like the contrasting colours without a third.
