Yeah, they really don't. Not unless it involves a 3rd party and an unrealistic return for the Flames. That's why we should be doing business with NJ right now.

Markstrom doesn't have ALL the control. He can't trade himself to a contender without the Flames agreeing. If Markstrom doesn't allow some leeway into where he ends up, he just may end up with a non-contending Flames team for the next two years - up until the TDL in his final season. Rumours seem to suggest he wants to play for a shot at a Cup so he would likely look beyond just one team in the event the Flames bring other teams as a possible destination.
