Listening to Sirius satellite radio this morning the consensus with Peter King and others were that Young will win the battle and Fisher will likely get axed at the end of the season. Probably the right move and not just because of the power struggle but 16 years is a long time to have the same head coach and it's not like we are talking about a coach that has won a superbowl or had alot of playoff success. Fisher has had the team competitive for decades but you get the feeling that competitive is all you are going to get from him with that organization. Feels like to right move for both parties as Fisher will likely have his choice of a few openings in the offseason.

Malcolm Glazer got what he so desperately desired a few years ago when that noted West Coast auctioneer, Al Davis, bartered away Jon Gruden to the over-eager Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner for a staggering price: two first-round draft choices, a pair of second-rounders and a Warren Sapp-hefty $8 million. After agreeing upon a compensation package that released the youngest coach in the NFL from the final year of his Oakland Raiders contract, the Glazer family signed Gruden to a five-year, $17.5 million contract.

I see...though thats not really a trade, its compensation for allowing him out of his deal with his team.
All that aside. If the Titans fire him he will be getting calls from at least 5 teams i can think of...and probably more....which would allow him to drive up his price as a FA so to speak.

yeah i have heard a bunch of talking heads on about this and some think Young will win and many others think there is no chance of that.
Gonna be fun to watch, but I do know this...if Adams chooses Young it will be comical watching the inmates run the asylum.

The Gruden thing is what I am referring too. Adams isn't going to let Fisher go for nothing. The Titans will recieve compensation which was the whole point of my argument. Sorry my semantics didn't work out for you. It also happened when Hoodie screwed over the Jets. One thing not being taken into account is that we might not have a season next year.

I plan on wearing long johns even if it is +5C. Sitting in the shade in that kind of weather can seem pretty cold.
I'll probably be down at the tunnel where the players come out for warm up early. Get some pics, maybe some autographs. That is something I never get to do at Arrowhead. The tailgate in KC is so awesome I don't get to my seat until the anthem.

Peter King was saying that it may be an amicable split as Fisher being a proud man may step down if Adams expects Fisher and Young to work it out in the offseason. I don't think teams are going to trade for a coach that they know isn't going to continue employment with the team. Young is owed a massive bonus in the offseason so if he will have to me moved or cut by a certain date or you know he's part of the plan moving forward.

I think they will get something for him. Fisher might want to step down, but Adams can make it so he doesn't work anywhere else for a year. If there are going to be all these teams lining up for him (which I am not sure I believe especially if Cowher, Gruden, and other coaches who can actually win in the playoffs are available) then someone is going to have to give up something. Whether thats a 6th rounder (one team involved) or a 2nd or 1st (multiple teams involved).

Names be bandied about by the SF area for Head Coach possibilities are Gruden, Billick, Holmgren (if allowed to leave, which he may request if the Browns appear to be in good shape with Mangini) and local hero Jim Harbaugh. A lot will depend upon if the current 49er braintrust (or lack there-of) is willing to cede any control to what any of these guys would (presumably) want.
If Singletary can run the table then he MAY save his job. If SF craps the bed on MNF that may be Singletary's final game. But the most plausible situation is a change at the end of the season.

Remember that there is a triple header of football on Thursday! I am going to watch the 2 games with family and then head over for Thanksgiving dinner with other family.

Check CBS...they have done it on special occasions in the past.
One thing that may go against you though is whether the game is sold out or not....tough times in Detroit still along with a 2-8 club may mean not likely.

I don't think you can usually see US network steams in Canada. I'll check - maybe it will be streamed on Sportsnet in Canada?
Pay-TV:

On City TV locally - don't think they are streaming:

Fan 960 can't stream NFL games on-line.

Good half for the Lions, especially to get that extra 3 points with a couple of seconds on the clock.

great INT to start the 2nd half, then Welker pounds one in to tie the game.

Detroit comes right back with a nice drive of their own (gambling on 4th and goal no less). 24-17 Lions.
