July 1 probably. The real question is who (if) the NHL has someone lined up and waiting in another market.

I think we're already at a point where the buyers aren't going to be tied to Glendale long-term. There will probably be conditions that the purchaser must negotiate in good faith with the City of Glendale, but I would expect any serious buyer to already have a backup plan for where to play going forward.
The league itself won't move the team. They'll sell it to new ownership, who will be responsible for finding a place to play, whether that's Glendale or somewhere else. Then, the league would approve the move.
I suspect that June 1 is the deadline for determining whether the team stays in Arizona for next year, as it was with the Thrashers/Jets move. Beyond that, the schedule is getting finalized and teams need to book their travel for next season.

And that was pretty close to the deadline. Hours away if you believe the groups that were involved.
Now, the question is whether the league is willing to stomach another year of owning the Coyotes. My bet is that they can and will.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't next season a lock to be in Glendale no matter what? Seems late in the game to be able to move the team?

Thrashers moved May 31 so it's not too late, yet.
In past years, I believe the Nordiques moved to Denver in late May also.
Not that I disagree with you. My reasoning for saying that they're likely staying in Phoenix next season with or without an ownership group is that there doesn't seem to be any buzz around a team in Quebec. They would at least have to be doing renovations to the Colisee right now. And they might actually be, but it seems odd that nobody in the media has picked up on that. By this time in 2011 there was a ton of media buzz on the NHL coming back to Winnipeg.

I think so too, but they will lose Smith, Tippet and Maloney.

Owner of Capstone Affluent Strategies a Wealth Management company, bidding on a team that's a proven loser.
Irony
At least this one has a 5 year clause and not ridiculous conditions that they keep the team in place.

I hope the team stays in Glendale and is given a fairshake under a good ownership group. I admit tho, this is a selfish view as I want to see a Flames game in Phoenix next year and it's a cheap way to take a warm vacay down south.

NHL rejects Pastor's bid to purchase Coyotes
http://www.foxsportsarizona.com/nhl/...21&feedID=3698
NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly confirmed Monday that the league had rejected a purchase bid submitted by Darin Pastor on Friday.
“The terms of his proposal were inconsistent with what we had previously indicated were the minimum prerequisites of a serious and realistic bid,” Daly wrote via email.
While Daly declined to offer more details, a source close to the situation said one key sticking point was that Pastor’s bid financed the deal over a 15-year period while the league expects the entire deal to be completed within a three-to-five-year window, with the expected price still listed between $150 million and $170 million.

Craig Morgan @cmorgancbsfoxaz
FYI: Am told the Pastor group is re-working its bid to reflect a shorter time frame.

NHL DC Bill Daly, when asked if Gosbee-LeBlanc is sole Coyotes suitor now: "There continue to be a number of groups we are talking to."
@NBCSportsRoc:
According to sources, Renaissance Sports and Entertainment was in NYC with the NHL over the weekend. #coyotes

Pastor clearly didn't follow the lockout closely. The NHL wants to get away from 15-year deals designed to reduce the cap hit!
