Good thing McDavid has a no move clause.
He'll be able to walk right out the door and not cost his next team (TOR) a pile of assets to acquire him.

That seems likely.

And Savoie scoring 41 points?

I was wondering if it’s an NMC, a no money clause, meaning that he doesn’t have to pay money back to the Oilers for wanting a move…you know, like Lowe demanded Comrie pay to leave?
I suspect that Mavi plays out the season and watches Emperor GM Nero Bowman play a fiddle while Stinkyville burns.

The mental gymnastics here are something.
"If that’s what Holloway and Broberg have turned into, then the Oilers are better off without them. They found cheaper players and managed to upgrade their roster spots."
A year later, why the Oilers dodged a bullet by moving on from Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg https://share.google/huNbncMTaP5kA3DYs

I can see McDavid improving 24 points over last year, unless this trade stuff starts dragging him down, and Draisaitl maintaining is find. Even Bouchard, improving his points is fine, though he hurts the Oilers in other way.
RNH has been in steady decline for 3 years and now he's suddenly going to find 15 more points, that's unlikely, he's on the downside of his career.
Hyman's going to be out until November late, he's 33 and been declining for 3 years, and coming off a major injury I see another decline for him.
AM has been in decline for a while since his 55 point year 4 years ago. and maybe he gets a ton of time on the first line. But if he plays on the first line with McDavid or on a line with Draisaitl a 42 point year is a bust.
Savoie and Howard both hitting those, I feel its unlikely, I didn't see much out of Savoie in those two games against the Flames except he helicopters on big hits because he's tiny, and Howard is making a major jump to the NHL from college and might need to adjust.
I expect that especially if the McDingdong drama heads into the regular season and with the age of the Oilers overall line up that this is going to be the team in the NHL with the biggest decline.
I have them fighting for a wildcard spot.
And a massive attempt to convince McDavid to wave his no movement clause by January if he hasn't signed.

At least the Oiler fans in the comment section are calling out the writer of this article. One of the comments was one of the worst things a writer could hear - “Spector must have wrote this”.

Did I miss something about Savoie and Howard, because even blue chip prospects usually are in tough to put up half a point a game a game right out of the gate, let alone B tier (and unproven ones at that) like these two guys.
When you're relying on rookies to be staples of your depth you're setting yourself up for disappointment, usually.
Is there a team worse at player development outside of can't miss top ten picks?

I mean he was okay in the AHL and good in a rookie tourney as an older player with the Flames not having their top guys. They are penciling him into the top six of a supposed cup contender.

Won't matter. They won't get any ice time to show anything anyways

Oilers have 3rd line now to rival Panthers?
https://ca.yahoo.com/news/finally-oi...203234754.html
I was keen to read the article and find out who was on this line. not clear really other than Nuge- the claim is this is novel- but doesn't he start every year at 3C til the first 2 get doubled up?
only other name I saw was maybe Frederic?
all this implies some combo of PodZ, IKE HOWARD, savoie, ageing mang and the 30 year old European guy who was a mediocre CHLer back in the day make up the rest of the top 6?
