And in the meantime China is now up to 125% because China dared to retaliate.

From NYTimes:
In a strange turn of events, the president seems to have added another 10 percent tariff to Canada and Mexico. Asked earlier if the 10 percent tariff extended to those countries, Scott Bessent, the treasury secretary, said that it did. And a White House official clarified for me just now that that was the case. Previously, Canada and Mexico had been exempted from this round of “reciprocal” tariffs, though they still faced a 25 percent tariff on many of their goods that the president imposed last month.

I’d love to see the investment accounts of Trump’s inner circle. You don’t think they are all over knowing that single tweets can cause 5-10 percent market swings.

Interesting that Trump would admit to someone that he is, in fact, just a reetard acting reetardedly, but hey...

I doubt that even the treasury secretary or any WH officials know what the f*** is going on at this point. But if that’s actually the case, that is absolutely infuriating. This administration is just impossible to deal with. What a bunch of clowns.

This is confusing... so did he pause the tariffs or just reduce them to 10%? and it was just on the "reciprocal tariffs" which weren't on Canada/Mexico... but now are? But the previous (auto, steel, fentynol excuse ones) are the same? Do these have all the non-USMCA compliant wordings?
So what precisely is he "pausing"?

The Walter "Bloomberg" 90 day pause fakeout 2 days ago was the test and makes a lot more sense now.

I really don't like government announcements via micro-blogging post. Just make your announcements in the White House Briefing room with attached documentation FFS.

Short answer is yes, under the guise of national security and the threat to it. That is the pretense for implementing them. But that is only temporary and eventually must be agreed to by the Senate (and possible the House of Representatives?) which may be a tough sell now.

He probably meant the money was pouring into his and his friends' bank accounts as they know exactly when to buy, when to sell and when to short.

So are we going to get to put the screws in iPhones or not? I’m
confused. One day yes, the next day no. I was looking forward to it. That’s my only concern here.

They never said anyone got to put screws in iPhones. They said that automated machines would do that and everyone would get to design and maintain the machines.

Don't worry.
Still in a trade war with China, so all those "putting tiny screws in iPhones" jobs are still on the table.
Other tiny screw related jobs are TBD though, we'll have to wait at least 1 more day to see if we'll actually have to wait 90 days to see who will be doing those jobs.

And then you'd get the job title "Assistant to the technician who lubes the machines"
