Oh, and just for posterity:

Alright people, I have seen the error of my ways. Posted a pretty ignorant comment the other night, apologies to everyone. Honestly didn't think about it nor did I think anyone gave a good gaddamn about what I said!
Then, posted 12 hours ago:

Quote:
Climate change will/has lead/led to increased storm and drought frequency and duration. We reap what we sow people, and its frustrating to hear these warnings be ignored.

Why is it that we trust nuclear scientists or oil engineers explicitly and without question, but we call bull#### on foresters, climatologists, hydrologists etc. when they warn us about this stuff? They are all just as educated..., trained and knowledgeable in their fields but nobody listens because its inconvenient.

Also, the only time the environmental scientists get called out is when something goes wrong, not when a disaster or the like is averted or prevented. But everyone gets dick-hard over quick-and-dirty profit margins that hurt us in the long run.

Maybe a cost-benefit analysis of the revenue and fruits of oilfield development should be pitted against the cost of rebuilding Calgary.
And now, his "apology", posted 16 minutes ago.

I'll mention this a second time (because I've had to delete some posts, two posts from one person), keep comments about what he said, not speculation about his sexual appetites.

People want this thread to show up in Google, think of how the forum is viewed then by such people, where it just descends into a 4chan like competition to see who can come up with the most edgy insult.

Oh come on. He's not that old. He's grown up in the computer age and the social media age. No way he didn't know.

Apparently there was an explosion or something at the TransAlta plant outside of Banff. HWY 1 shut down and Banff might not have any power

I wonder what Andy Greschner thinks caused the flooding in his own province.

No one was hurt, thank goodness. I guess someone also freaked about the Minnewanka dam because of that explosion so now BNP and the Town of Canmore are having to post that there is nothing to worry about on that front.

How many highways is that now? I heard a huge swath near Canmore were closed earlier today.

Banff is right out of power. The Power Station is down and they aren't sure when they can get it back up.

EDIT: Bad tweet.

Does that feed into the Bow after the dam?

A few more videos today from flood watch shift. The 25th Avenue and elbow river ones from early this morning are pretty crazy.

I do not know. I would assume so though.

EDIT: A quick google search show it drains into cascade river which flows into the bow.

Appears so.

Why do they need to think about impacts now? Isn't this something they'd understand ahead of time?
