I'm glad one of the despicable pieces of trash making comments like this got exposed. I made the mistake of checking the flood updates on CBC 's site last night and man I was shocked at the comment section ...a lot more Alberta hate out there than I realized, of course there its easier to get away with being a scumbag having anonymity.

Yeah, I made the mistake of going to CBC.ca from work yesterday. I don't get shocked easily but was thoroughly appalled at the comments from people outside Alberta. The visceral hate was something I didn't expect.

It's just the internet overall. Give a man an audience and the bravery provided by a computer and he can spew the hatred from his innermost bowels.

Just ask Andy Greschner (We're now 5th on a Google search by the way)

There should be a special thread for Andy Greschne. It would make it easier for future employers to find out about him than digging through this thread.

To get our new pal Andy Greschner to the top of a Google search, perhaps someone should create a new all Andy Greschner thread to better convey his musings....?edit...someone already had the same awesome idea!

I didn't avoid non-essential travel today, and got to my house to find it starting to flood as a result of a leaking mechanical room. I pretty much just saved my place with a pump, a ####load of towels, mops and 5 family members keeping the water contained to my kitchen and bathroom.
Lots of pumps all over Sunnyside today. People were starting to make some progress and then that 15 minute rainstorm just totally ####ed us again, it was unbelievable. But I'm still one of the lucky ones. There are some really hard hit people, both my next door neighbours and the gentleman across the street have waist high water.

To the people coming through our neighbourhood with coffee, donuts and just a helping hand, I appreciate it, but yeah ... the looky-loos are a little un-needed.

Sunnyside Pride, love my neighbourhood, love this city.

They don't even have to dig, the number 5 search result on Google is a link directly the relevant page where he is mentioned.

Now back to our regular programming...

		| Big lesson learned today.
Andy Greschner reallllllly acted like a dick, and has tasted the fruits of his idiocy.

I realize that many people will not read this, and nobody may care, but if I may explain myself:

At the time of my post, I was unaware of the tragic deaths and floodings that had occurred due to my occupation being out of news/cell service for most of the day.

I was frustrated with ...some shenanigans that go on with cross-provincial traffic, and meant my comments as an inside joke to BC'ers in regards to Albertan vacationers. I am sure that Albertans have the same inside jokes in regards to British Columbian tourists, and that as Canadians, we all have a bit of a friendly, if not heated at times, rivalry. I did not expect the kind of response that was received, wrong or right, and feel deeply sorry for any kind of trauma that I have caused.

As a human being, I feel deeply apologetic for the effects my comments have caused, and will take this into account in the future. To that end, any comments I have made do not reflect on any of my employers, past or present. Any statements made are my own, and do not reflect the opinions of anyone but myself.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this event, as do my apologies. I understand other people's frustrations and aggravations to my comments, and now, better than ever, I understand the ramifications of social media. I also understand that social media holds no prisoners, whether they deserve it or not. To that end, this account will be deleted.

In conclusion, I apologize for my comments, however misinformed they may have been. I hope the best for all those affected. I also hope that people understand that I have no ill-intents towards anybody.

 Social media... who knew?

 Sincerely,

 Andy Greschner

Regardless of inside jokes, I'm sure it's generally frowned upon to wish for a segment of the population to die on a public forum.
I've received a little bit of social media training at basically every job I've had since my first one in high school. I figured that kind of thing would be pretty standard by now? Even though Facebook was just starting up at the time, the manager at my first job probably took the social media part of the training as seriously as everything else.

I'm shocked people are surprised by the cbc comments, don't you know Alberta and those awful tar sands are responsible for everyone ounce of environmental destruction caused on the entire earth.

Read on twitter that some low life piece of scum stole someone's truck and trailer in Medicine Hat as they had stuff packed up due to the evacuation.

That's not an apology. Apologies are simply "I'm sorry, that was terribly uncouth of me and I apologize most sincerely, please forgive my insensitivity" - not a load of qualifying your previously craptastic remarks. All that was, was being sorry he got caught out.
