It took me an hour and 40 minutes to get to school today. I love when people on Deerfoot drive 15-20Kph. At least coming home only took 35 minutes. Usually it takes 20.

Yes the drivers in Calgary suck, but truckers are much worse. There is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS truckers in the far left lane slowing down traffic.

I flip every trucker off if he is the left lane, I don't care if they are going 160, I'll still flip them off.

22X is closed east of 52nd street SE. Not sure if it's because of an accident (I did see an ambulance headed the other way) but the conditions around there are pretty bad right now.

This city should do something to encourage carpooling. On the way to Mount Royal today, which took us three hours btw, we barely saw another car with more than one person. On top of that, you ask everyone to pay $3 to park to use the transit

Not plowing is one thing, but not sanding intersections is another. Even worse when that intersection is 14th St. by the hospital. A bus and a few cars mucked that up pretty good. And for those of you morons out there that don't know, accelerating and braking on the snow free sections (read: glare ice) is not advisable. Use the snow covered sections which have 10x the traction.

I left downtown @ 4:55 pm and arrived home in Harvest Hills @ 7:15 pm.

For more than a minute I seriously thought the whole city was told there was a party at my house with free booze!

My industrial park west of the airport (just north of deerfoot mall) has only 3 exits. It took me an hour and a half to get to the chilis on Barlow at 37th (a normal ten minute drive). I gave up to drink beer and watch the leafs play the isles for an hour - Barlow had some of worst congestion I have seen in Calgary.

Roads were good (if slippery) after that I guess. Funny how less bad a storm seems when the morons get home.

That park has the worst access for thousands of workers. Especially when the major out roads haven't been grated and are missing lanes... Even Deerfoot mall had lines of more than 100 cars trying to get onto 64th through the parking lot. It didn't help that a bus was jack-knifed on the hill up towards Barlow (11th?).

430-7 yesterday, 430-8 today.. Can I possibly take 4.5 hours to make my 30 minute commute tomorrow?

Drove in the NW all night with work and would advise everyone to leave early...with the snow we got over night (about an inch) it has turned the wheel ruts to sheer ice and anything around intersections is just horrible right now.

Drive for conditions.

It took me 28 minutes yesterday to get home when it usually takes me 24ish.

I walk and some people who own homes are not considerate enough to shovel their walks.

They have been reported to the city about there lazy ways.

Um, feel free to start your own sidewalk transgressions thread - we're here to bitch about the roads.

Man today it took me 50 minutes for my commute, which is normally 15 minutes. Northbound barlow towards Glenmore was soooooooooo slow.

I really want them to implement a mandatory snow tire policy in this province like in Quebec. Instead of complaining about how bad the city is handling the impossible of task of snow removal during an unending snowfall that continually peaks during rush hour, people should be calling for a snow tire mandate. I'm convinced you could just park all the snow removal equipment if people would just buy the right damn tires.

My normal 25 minute commute home last night took 2 hours. I'm really hoping we don't get a repeat tonight.

It took me an hour to get to work this morning while it usually takes me about 15 minutes.

It wasn't as much the snow, as the lights at the Deerfoot S 124 ave interchange decided to stay red and not change.

Eventually I said screw it and pulled a totally illegal turn (when it was safe to do so of course)

Meh, it's Calgary during winter. I expect days like this. I wish some people on the roads would just be a little more patient and wait it out in traffic like the rest of us. Yes, we know you have places you need to be at, but so does everyone else. I just take it as a given that I'll be stuck in traffic for an hour or so during these days. I say, crank up the radio, and just relax. It's better to arrive at your destination late than to not arrive at all.

FYI, I'm talking to the people who cut into the shoulder lane and then try to merge back into traffic ahead on Deerfoot.
