Other than a slight scare when my reservation didn't pop up on the kiosk everything has gone smooth so far. Just waiting to board for the toronto flight at 1.

Well, we're in T.O. right now. By the way, if you are planning on eating at the Toronto airport, I'd recommend doing it before you get to the international wing. There isn't much here, and I don't think you can go back withou going through customs.

sitting in the menorca airport waiting to make last connection... long day:-)
Think we got the rookie pilot flying in to menorca, never had a pilot on and off the throttle as much as this guy.

Just found out that flights on BOTH our outbound (21st) and return (28th) itinerary have changed!
OUTBOUND:
It turns out that the Calgary-Toronto segment for the 21st was cancelled by Air Canada so we're going to leave a day earlier instead. So if anyone else is booked for the 21st, you'll have to switch to the 20th or 22nd (I saw cmyden's post on beyond.ca and it looks like they were notified a couple of days ago).
RETURN:

Originally I was supposed to be flying from MAH to MAD on Sept 28, but they changed this, and now I'm going from MAH to MAD on Sept 27 and spending a night in Madrid, and going back to Canada on the 28th.

We were told the same thing that Zarathustra was told (2+ months ago!) -- the Menorica to Madrid segment on the 28th was cancelled (?) so they gave us the option of leaving Menorca on the 27th, spending the night in Madrid (at our own expense), and then flying back to Toronto/Calgary on the 28th as scheduled. Originally tried to get us on an 11:20 pm flight to Madrid, but we got the 12:55 pm flight which will give us some time to see the City. I agree it'll be nice to spend a night in Madrid -- it just sucks to have to rearrange hotel bookings and such, since we already made reservations.
FFR -- I'll send you a PM but I'm guessing your return trip on the 28th will be changed as well.
Also, as cmyden posted on beyond.ca -- we made two separate reservations from my account but only one of us was notified about the change in the outbound flight (and there was no mention of the change in the return flight, in the email or on our Orbitz account!).

Well, our first 24 hours in Menorca are well over, and I have zero concern that we will run out of things to do. We've been to Fort Marlborough, the downtown market, a couple of nice restaurants, some downtown shopping and a few other places. We definitely will not see the whole island before we go. As long as we get a tour of the gin factory, I'm happy. And to top it off, our hotel has free wifi.

Sooo I just checked my email and my flight itinerary on Orbitz and nothing has changed for me. If they cancelled my flight I'm sure I would have been notified by now. Should I be calling Orbitz or SpanAir?
Edit: I also just looked at the SpanAir website and nothing is changed....

our layover was in menorca and was only 6 hours, and no we didn't do anything because they have no place to store your bags and they only open the checkin counters about 2 hours prior to departure so we sat in the airport and tried to sleep.

Well, we got back last night at 8PM Calgary time with no issues at all with flights or changes. It was nearly perfect weather the whole time we were there - rain/thunderstorms arrived in Menorca on Sunday afternoon, just as we were leaving the beach.
I can't state enough how amazing of a trip it was. We were constantly busy and could have stayed another week for sure. I'm a history geek, so this place is a dream for me.
Will post pics soon. I think I took over 500 of them in five days.
