I echo the sentiment of it being nice to see Latvia win this one. Wins in big tournaments can only help grow the sport there. I was cheering (and will continue cheering) for Canada, but if you had to pick a team for Canada to lose against, I would pick Latvia. Good wake up call for them (ignoring the roster and coaching decisions that can't be fixed), and I really hate losing against the USA (or Russia obviously). It is a big day for Latvian hockey again. Good on them tonight!

Hopefully canada gets it’s act together. As you said. Losing to Latvia is one thing. Losing to the US is another.

I love to see underdogs take down giants. I don't care if Canada is on the receiving end this time. Good for Latvia.

What?????
When you don’t take your best players to an all-star tournament you don’t win?………. Geez who knew.
I think this is great, Hockey Canada is a complete clown show. Pretty confident that a second Team Canada team comprised of players snubbed from this team could beat them handily. Absolutely embarrassing

You know the Canadian kids do you?
I mean...who cares if they win since that's the requisite for you?
Grow up.

In the late 90's Canada lost to Kazakhstan. The hilarious part was Kazakhstan didn't even have enough hockey sticks for that game so Canada gave them some. It was beautiful. F*** Hockey Canada.

NOGAF who you cheer for….. Or don’t and why. Do you do cheer routines with pom poms in front of the Tv. It’s right up there with your hockey pool progress.

Basically players playing out of position, particularly on the PP (Nadeau, Bonk, Howe) no Dickinson on the PP.
No real offence generated. Good offensive players still on the bench (Rehkof) who could co tribute.

That really sucks for the kid. He looked really good so far. Not sure if they’ve announced his injury but my first guess was a broken collar bone.
Really emphasizes now how much team Canada will miss not having Parekh and/or Yakemchuk at the tournament with Schaefer out. Price is now probably their most dynamic defencemen but he’s not nearly as talented offensively as Parekh or Yakemchuk IMO.

It’ll be interesting to see how canada rebounds from that loss.
Embarrassed enough to clean up their act and roll through the rest of the tournament. Or they can’t move past it and finish out of the medals.

BTW, it's cruel to make Latvia play a day game after a night game. Can't see how they can match the energy needed to play the US.
