Not sure how else you would have it?
Its pretty much the way it goes with limited participants.
Would it be better to shut down the league an extra week so the Czechs and Swiss could allow 2 semi finals....which equals one more game per team making that round....would that legitimize it more? Perhaps.
Not sure we see the Russians in these things for a long long time, so best get used to it folks.

Agree that the Finns just don't have much to choose from, but disagree that he's barely an NHL defenceman.
Yeah, it's a JFresh player card so grain of salt and all that but his metrics from last season show well. He's still inexperienced, so will have his stumbles as he continues to develop, but to me, he's more than barely an NHL defenceman. Agree to disagree. He's had a meh year so far though in terms of production, which of course happens to all players.

^^ the problem is that the JFresh card is from June and for the 3 years prior. This year has not been good at all. He's well down the depth chart in Utah. I think he'd struggle to get time here still.

Yeah, like I said, take it with a grain of salt. But 3 years is still 3 years of performance and shows some track record of play. Not saying he's the next coming or anything, I just disagreed with Valimaki being barely an NHL defenceman, is all.

I think he makes the regular roster of about a third to a half of the NHL teams right now.

I never said what I wanted. I'm just nitpicking the idea that the best players are there.

He has been bottom pair or healthy scratched on an average team. 1 point -2 on the year.
His NHL longevity is certainly up in the air.

Equal to Tom Erixon, exact same trajectory at this point.
Bye and I don't think about you at all, this says more about Finlands hockey program more than us letting go a player who isn't as good as Kulak right now.

Well since you asked, I would do round robin for seeding and then semi finals, finals.
To have no knockout stage except the finals ruins it a bit IMO. That 2nd seed going to the finals might be a tie break situation where a team with the same record is just done.
I am still watching, I reserve the right to criticize yet still watch it for free lol

OK....this was actually written................ albeit by some Oilers honk
Quote:
When it comes to Bouchard, there’s another strong argument to make for him being on this roster, too. While you could find some reasoning in Canada’s idea that they don’t need another power-play quarterback given Cale Makar making the team, Bouchard’s defensive game has been vastly underappreciated. In fact, one could even make an argument he’s been the best defenceman in his own zone among the blueliners selected for the Canadian roster.
