People are saying that was how it was designed... Sure doesn't look like it though.

If you look at old photos/video there is a lip/overhang in that spot, but this looks worse?

I don’t know, everything in Edmonton looks broken, how is anyone supposed to tell.

That whole city looks like an industrial park. Just a great big ashtray.

Could you imagine....could you even imagine if the Flames were to win the Cup this season in Edmonton as the Hub City?

Oh. My. God.

Did they forget to install some portions of the roof somewhere?
I mean how does that happen?

It looks exactly as you would expect if some of the poorly placed toilets overflowed!

Yikes, can they actually fix that in two weeks' time? I'm doubtful. I wonder what the odds are of the NHL scrambling together a back-up plan that involves Calgary and the 'Dome.

I'd guess if needed it's more likely they use another rink/rinks in Edmonton instead until Rogers is ready, as they already have all of the hotel side lined up there.

It's not like they need the seating capacity.

Jeez. Couldn’t happen at the worst possible time. Has NHL spoken about this and if it impacts the start of the play-ins? Hopefully we are far enough out that it gets fixed soon. But then again, leave it to the Oilers to #### up a rebuild.

It doesn't appear there was any damage to the event level of the arena, so it shouldn't be an issue. If they had to worry about people attending the games, it could be a problem, but that's not an issue.

Good points. The NHL's comment of it being "unfit to play" is what got me thinking about a possible back-up plan. But you guys are right, they'll probably just use other rinks in Edmonton until Rogers is ready.
